💚World Mental health Day - 10th October 💚

It’s a reminder of the importance of good mental health and the need to prioritise and invest in good mental health. For 2026, the theme set by the World Federation for Mental Health is in Lived experiences heard: Real voices, real change.

Across the country and around the world, people are raising their voices, sharing stories, and helping one another to get through. It’s a chance for us all to talk openly, connect meaningfully, and push for services that are there when we need them most!

How you can join in:
• Share the message: posters, graphics, or simply a conversation with someone you care about.
• Check in on yourself and others: asking “How are you really?” can open up a vital conversation. It’s okay not to have all the answers.

'106 cards for 106 year old Violet'
I am the Befriending Coordinator at Basingstoke NeighbourCare.
One of our befriending clients is going to be 106 very soon!!
Violet is amazing, when I first met her she had had her card from the Queen and was hoping to get one from the King when she turned 105. This year, we would like cards from our community!

THIS FRIDAY - FREE DENTAL CARE

Free dental care is coming to Basingstoke this Friday, 9 October. Dentaid The Dental Charity are bringing their mobile clinic to the Buckskin Centre, offering fillings, extractions and oral health advice to residents who have struggled to see a dentist.

The service is open to anyone who hasn't seen a dentist in two years and either qualifies for free NHS dental care or faces barriers to treatment. If that sounds like you or someone you know, call 023 8001 4450 (Monday to Friday, 9.15am to 3.45pm) to check your eligibility and book.
