One of the wonderful things about stories is their ability to help us see the world through someone else's eyes 💛

For this year's Inclusive Voices short story competition, we've partnered with EmpathyLab, whose mission is to grow an empathy-led generation of young people.

The competition has an empathy-led theme, celebrating what it means to understand and share another person's feelings. EmpathyLab has created some free writing resources to help aspiring authors of all ages explore different perspectives, build believable characters and craft empathy-led stories, to help give you some inspiration for your own story or poem.

Last year, Calibre Audio created 4,716 audiobooks for people with a print disability.

Volunteer narrator Joanna said: "There was a time in my own life when I couldn’t access books. Audiobooks really saved me. They became a haven for me during a difficult period, so being able to give that experience back to someone else is incredibly important to me.

That’s why I volunteer for Calibre Audio. Every audiobook we create helps someone experience stories, learning and connection. None of it would be possible without the support of people who believe reading should be accessible to everyone."

If you’d like to help bring more books to life for people who need them, please support Calibre Audio by making a donation now.

Think you know M. W. Craven? Think again.

Before Washington Poe, there was Avison Fluke. A detective balancing investigations, secrets and with a life threatening to fall apart around him.

Gritty, emotional and packed with unpredictable twists, the Avison Fluke series shows an even darker side of Craven’s crime writing.

If you’re looking for audiobooks that stay with you long after you’ve finished listening, A. M. Dassu is a brilliant place to start.

Her stories are grounded in real life, exploring belonging, identity, empathy and what it means to find your place in the world. From football-themed stories like 'Boot It!' to powerful contemporary fiction for young readers, her audiobooks are designed to spark conversation as much as they are to entertain.

These are stories that don’t just get listened to. They can be felt, discussed and remembered.
