Quite a productive day today. Keith and Alan managed to adjust the right hand fl**ge, (which holds in place the right hand steam pipe that runs from the cylinders into the smokebox). It now sits flush with the curvature of the said smokebox. Sam, one of the ‘Q Branch’ lads, rubbed down and undercoated some chequered plate. Mike successfully shaped some cladding for the left hand steam pipe that is currently in situ on the left hand side of the smokebox. As can be seen from one of the photos the cladding fits snuggly around the wooden template that Mike manufactured.

After a quiet Q1, work has now commenced on the outside steam pipes at Quainton Road.
