Today’s the day! 🇿🇦🎉

The iZinga Assist community comes together in Cape Town today for our Annual Summit and the Walk the Talk NPO Excellence Awards in association with Primedia Broadcasting's 702.

It’s a day to connect, learn and, most importantly, celebrate the extraordinary NPOs doing vital work across South Africa.

As Derek Lubner shared in a recent TechCabal feature, iZinga Assist was created to “shine a light on the under-served tier of the sector” — helping grassroots NPOs become verified, strengthen their governance and become more visible to prospective funders.

Today is that mission brought to life: NPOs, donors, partners and sector leaders coming together to help bridge the gap between organisations doing incredible work and funders looking for credible organisations to support.

And tonight, we celebrate those who truly Walk the Talk. 🏆

Behind every person living with dementia is a story, a family and a community navigating change. 💙

The Association for Dementia and Alzheimer’s of South Africa (ADASA) is helping make that journey one of greater support, dignity and understanding.

Through psychosocial support and counselling, family consultations, support groups, training and awareness programmes, ADASA supports people living with dementia and those who care for them across South Africa.

And this important work deserves to be seen.

ADASA became an iZinga Assist verified NPO on 21 April 2026 and has since seen increased interest from potential funders.

It’s a powerful example of why NPO verification matters. By strengthening trust, transparency and visibility, verification can help credible organisations demonstrate their funding readiness and create new opportunities to connect with potential supporters.

South Africa may be off the FATF grey list, but scrutiny of NPOs is increasing.

In his article, Beyond Greylisting: Navigating South Africa’s New NPO Governance Reality, Ricardo Wyngaard highlights why documented controls, risk awareness and compliance readiness are becoming increasingly important — particularly as donor expectations rise.

At iZinga Assist, we’re helping NPOs meet this new reality. Our 123 verified NPOs are continually informed of legislative changes and reminded when key documents need updating, helping them remain compliant and donor-ready.

Because when donors can see that an NPO is well governed, compliant and prepared, they can give with greater confidence.
