📣 Pop-up Phonics Prebendal Farm Community Centre next Tuesday! 📣
Karen is bringing Phonics with Robot Reg to Prebendal Farm Community Centre on Tuesday 3rd November, and I'd love to see some new faces 🤖💙

If you've been curious about the classes but weren't ready to commit to a full term, this is the perfect chance to come and try one.

🕤 Minis (1–2.5 yrs): 9:45–10:30am
🕥 Preschool (2.5–4 yrs): 10:45–11:30am
💷 £8.50 per session

Expect songs, games and hands-on activities that build speaking, listening and early reading skills. Little ones just think they're playing!

More pop-ups are coming on Tuesday 24th November and Tuesday 8th December.

📢 GOOD NEWS FOR Oxford Road (Prebendal Farm - AYLESBURY WEST): FOOTWAY RECONSTRUCTION WORKS FINALLY SCHEDULED!

Following our continued efforts and representations, we are pleased to confirm that footway reconstruction works on Fowler Road and several adjoining roads have now been scheduled.

As your Unitary Councillors, Cllr Nidhi Mehta and Cllr Alan Sherwell, we have been pushing for these improvements, and it is good to see the works finally moving forward.

📍 Roads included:
• Fowler Road
• St Anne’s Road
• St Catherines Court
• Chesterfield Place
• Several other side roads off Fowler Road

📅 Scheduled dates: Wednesday 21 October to Saturday 21 November 2026

🕤 Working hours: 9:30 am to 3:30 pm

🚦 Traffic management: Multi-way traffic lights will be used while the works are carried out.

We understand how important safe, well-maintained footways are for residents, particularly older people, families with pushchairs and anyone with mobility needs. These improvements are an important step towards making our local streets safer and more accessible.

Thank you to residents for your patience while these works take place. We will continue to push for improvements across Aylesbury West and keep residents informed about local developments.

Our Cllr Ian Beard - Independent Oxford Road working hard for the residents.

***Aylesbury Town Council Meeting***

Last night Aylesbury Town Council meeting councillors had TVP Aylesbury Vale in attendance to give up dates.

Councillors were ask to submit questions a month before and only 2 councillors did this so that the responses can be collated. (Cllr Susan Morgan and Myself)

Updates for Oxford Road Ward -

Operation - College
Sniffer Dogs were used at the college last month which lead to one arrest and has been released on bail.

Operation Oxford Road Underpass -
6 x stop and searches were carried out on the day and the team advised that this gave a clear message to the new students as well as old.

Cambridge Place - ASB in Town

The officer updated on the ASB and advised the warning were given, unfortunately they came back to the area and two arrests.

Also update on another operation for my ward which is still in the early days process and officer is updating me of this via emails.

No questions were raised by the other Town councillor for Oxford Road.

Other Town councillors did have questions to the officiers from TVP and were answered.

I am aware of car issues in Gatehouse and in Haydon Hill which surprises me their were no questions asked by the town councillors for these areas.

Warning tomorrow

🚨 ADVANCE NOTICE: between 6pm and 8pm on Tuesday 15 September, an abnormal load required for the ongoing HS2 works will be travelling on our road network.

This will require up to 15-minute rolling road closures and/or traffic management along the A41 Tring Road, A41 Friarage Road and A418 Oxford Road to allow the vehicles to move through the area safely.

Please avoid the area or take an alternative route during these times.

***Sommerville Way Play Area***

Well this has to be more of an occupplishment as a father and as chairman of Prebendal Farm Street Association and now following up as your town councillor.

Buckinghamshire Council Officier -

By way of update and as promised, I’m pleased to inform you that as part of our play area improvement programme we will be progressing works to improve the play area at Somerville Way, Aylesbury.

We will shortly be commencing the engagement stage seeking park user’s feedback/comments on the play experiences/items they would like to see included in the new design to help inform the design brief. The tendering process will hopefully commence in the coming months.

If you are aware of any groups/organisations you would like me to include in the engagement stage, please do let me know or feel free to forward this email on to stakeholders. I will be placing the attached signage on the existing play area fencing today.

The focus on this play area is for ages 2-14 years with a view to enlarge the existing space (subject to engagement feedback) to make a more accessible, inclusive, and exciting play space.
