🎃👻 What a spooktacular finish to our week at Go Play Holiday Club!

Our last day was full of spooky games, including wrapping each other up as mummies and some witch’s hat fun! 🧙‍♀️ There was plenty of creativity too, with the children making their own squishies, cotton bud skeletons and pumpkin faces using old CDs.

They also decorated gingerbread people with colourful icing and Halloween sprinkles, created some lovely drawings and showed off more fantastic Lego creations. 🎨🦴🧱

🌭 We rounded off the week with a hot dog lunch!

A huge thank you to all the children who joined us this half term, and to our families for your continued support. It’s been lovely seeing everyone playing, making friends and trying different activities. 💛

And a very special thank you to our wonderful staff for all your hard work, care and enthusiasm throughout the week. There’s so much that goes into making club happen, and it’s very much appreciated.

👾🍂 A monster-filled day at Go Play! 🍂👾

The children have been busy creating their own colourful monsters, with curly pipe-cleaner hair, sparkly sequins, googly eyes and some very toothy grins! We’ve loved seeing their different ideas and the characters they’ve brought to life. 🎨

Our leaf stamp printing added a lovely splash of autumn colour, with the children painting and stamping different leaf shapes to make their own patterns. 🍁

There was plenty of time for sports games, puzzles, trains and cars, along with some table football fun and lovely building creations! ⚽🚂🧩

Lunch was jacket potatoes with tasty toppings and salad to keep everyone fuelled for a busy afternoon. 🥔🧀

Tomorrow is our last day of October holiday club, and we’ve got lots of spooky fun to finish the week! We can’t wait! 🎃👻

💍 Lost rings – please could you help?

One of our staff members has lost some rings at Go Play Holiday Club, pictured below.

They were taken off due to a messy activity.

Please could you check your child’s bags and coat pockets, and gently ask whether they have found any rings or picked them up by mistake?

Accidents happen, and if your child has brought them home, please just pop them back to us or send us a private message. There’s no need for anyone to feel worried or embarrassed—we would simply love to get them back to their owner. ❤️

🍂🎃 Lots of autumn fun at Go Play this half term!

The children have been getting creative with pumpkins, pine cones and colourful autumn leaves. They’ve wrapped wool around their pumpkins, added leafy hair and googly eyes, and used string to attach pine cones to their creations. Each one looks so different! 🍁🧶

We’ve also made dangling spiders with bendy legs and smiley faces, and painted autumn trees using cotton buds to dab on red, yellow and orange leaves 🕷️🎨

There’s been plenty of squishing and mixing during messy play, some brilliant LEGO building, football outside and Halloween rice cakes covered in colourful icing and spooky sprinkles ⚽🧱

Lunch was roast chicken with roast potatoes, vegetables, Yorkshire pudding and gravy 😋

And some lovely news to celebrate… Cara Mordaunt is a HAF Awards 2026 Regional Winner! 🏆💐 We’re so proud of her.

Well done, Cara, and thank you for everything you do at Go Play 🧡

🎃 Another busy day of fun at Go Play! 🎃

🏸 The children enjoyed badminton, archery, volleyball and dodgeball, with plenty of opportunities to get moving and play together!

🎨 Our craft tables were busy with mummy pictures, CD owls and cotton bud skeletons. When some children found painting with string tricky, we adapted the mummy activity by using toy car wheels to create the bandages. The children loved it! There was also some lovely crocheting and some fantastic LEGO creations. 🧶🦉

🎃🔨 The pumpkins were a big hit! The children had great fun hammering golf tees into them, making holes and creating patterns. Lots of concentration and determination as they practised their hand-eye coordination and explored using tools.

🔬 Our lava lamp science sparked lots of interest and curiosity! The children watched the colourful bubbles moving and compared the results, noticing that the effect worked better in the large glass jar than in the plastic cups. It was lovely to see them so interested in experimenting and making discoveries.

🍝 For lunch, we enjoyed Swedish meatballs and pasta, with Quorn Swedish meatballs as an alternative. Snack was an old favourite—apple doughnuts! The children loved decorating their apple rings before tucking in. 🍎

Lots of fun had by all! 💚

🧥 We’re hoping to get outside for a bit tomorrow, so please send your children with warm coats and sturdy shoes, ready for more adventures!

🍂🎉 Day One at Go Play Holiday Club! 🎉🍂

A busy start to half term with lots of dodgeball, Lego building and imaginative role play! 🧱🏐

🦔 At the craft table, the children used forks dipped in brown paint to give their hedgehogs wonderfully spiky coats—each one looking different!

💀 We made cotton bud skeletons, carefully cutting out skulls and arranging and sticking the “bones” onto colourful card. Some fantastic poses amongst our finished creations!

🍃 There was plenty of rolling, squashing and cutting with green playdough, making autumn shapes including leaves, pumpkins and squirrels.

🍽️ Lunch was fish fingers, chips and peas to fuel an afternoon of play.

A lovely first day filled with creativity, getting active and spending time together! 🧡
