1st Holmer Green Guides and Kingfisher Rangers have been very busy this term creating an installation for the Holmer Green Jubilee Sensory Garden in our local community

The design is based around our Holmer Green banner, with the 3 key elements of the cherry tree, pond and sign post.

The girls explored themes around the senses and what it means to be a member of Girlguiding, and each section represented.

We had our unveiling yesterday with all the girls and leaders plus volunteers from the Sensory Garden.

It's Summer Community Carnival and Fete season. Time to look out for those Girlguiding Buckinghamshire stands filled with interactive activities to engage their local communities

Here's the Chesham Vale division team out in force at the recent Chesham Carnival with friendship bands, seed planting and guess the marbles in a jar game.

Look out for more over the next month...

It may be June, but someone forgot to tell the weather! ☔

Thankfully, 1st Wendover Rainbows didn't let the wet weather dampen their spirits and we had our Teddy Bears' Picnic indoors 🧸 Some bear-y good UMA games were had!

Fingers crossed summer gets the memo and brings us some sunshine for the rest of our out-of-unit adventures. ☀️

Serving their community, an important part of the Girlguiding promise came to life for one Girlguiding Buckinghamshire Brownie unit recently...

4th Newport Pagnell Brownies this week went to Castlemead Court Care home to entertain the residents. There were individual performances on keyboards, poems written by the girls themselves, one about what Brownies means to her. One girl read a story that she had written which has been published. Two girls did a puppet show and two more told jokes. We then all joined together to sing a few songs. Before we went home another Brownie showed the residents a pattern that she had drawn and she had photocopied for them to colour in at their craft sessions.

A lovely evening thoroughly enjoyed by the girls and much appreciated by the residents.

These Brownies took part in an excellent first‑aid workshop delivered by Lucy from Daisy First Aid. They learned DRS ABC and gained a clear understanding of the importance of early action in an emergency.

They engaged thoughtfully and practised diligently, though the bandaging of their “casualty” was occasionally more creative than clinical.

Valuable life skills learnt whilst sharing fun together as part of Girlguiding Buckinghamshire

2nd Aston Clinton Brownies braved the weather for a chip shop walk this week. As Tawny Owl always says, there is no such thing a bad weather, just the wrong clothing! The girls had a great time spotting baby ducklings and cygnets and also crayfish in the canal. They learned their Country Code for the Be Brilliant in Bucks challenge and were disappointed to find other people had broken the code by leaving litter and dog 💩 behind.

10th Chesham guides made pooters and went bug hunting recently as part of the entomology badge and incredible insects challenge from Surrey west.
The pooters worked so much better than I expected and the girls loved it.
