This is a volunteer led group helping stroke survivors, their families and carers in Ashford, Kent.

We offer peer support for working age and younger stroke survivors in the local area and meet once a month.

💙 Our next Stroke Support Group is:
Friday 27th November 💙

Different Strokes Ashford Kent - Stroke Support Group is from 2pm to 4pm at Kennington Womens Institute

We have Lorraine coming from CLUB CHI to offer seated Tai Chi
This session is for all abilities & fully accessible.

Our monthly Different Strokes Ashford Kent support group, is a safe space for Stroke Survivors & Carers/partners to meet.
Refreshments & cakes are also provided after the activity.

THANK YOU for being part of World Stroke Day.

As World Stroke Day comes to a close, we want to say a huge thank you to every group, every community member and every volunteer who makes Different Strokes what it is.

Thank you for sharing your stories, offering support, bringing people together and helping spread the message that Information Saves Lives.

Every conversation, every connection and every act of kindness helps build a community where younger stroke survivors and their families can find understanding, information and support.

Together, we are creating a community that matters. One where younger stroke survivors know they are not alone and don't have to face life after stroke without support.

World Stroke Day may be over for another year, but our work continues every day.

Thank you for being part of it.

💙 World Stroke Day 2026 💙

Raising awareness at East Kent Hospitals University NHS Foundation Trust - Kent & Canterbury Hospital.

We visited Harbledown Ward (Stroke Ward) & handed out flyers & spoke to the Sister in charge, who was interested in what the charity can provide for younger stroke survivors.

Stroke can happen at any age. Different Strokes supports younger stroke survivors and their families, and every person’s experience is different.
