This week is 1st - 7th June is 2026

It's no secret that I am passionate about raising awareness of the LifeVac Europe Ltd anti-choking devices and have helped to raise thousands of pounds for The Oliver Steeper Foundation to be able to donate these devices to registered childcare settings across the UK 🇬🇧

Only last year I had a young child choke in my setting whilst eating lunch, something we do numerous times a day/week. My first aid training kicked straight in and after 4 back blows the obstruction cleared but had it not I cannot explain how reassuring it was knowing I had a device at my setting and that the older children were fully aware of it and poised ready.

Our device comes on all our outings, it hangs on the pushchair and is ready if needed in an emergency. This doesn't replace basic first aid but it is a last resort and one I'm very grateful to have. I am fully covered by my own public liability insurance and by LifeVac's insurance should I ever need to use it 👍

I am incredibly proud to have helped raise money to fund anti-choking devices for over two thirds of Registered Childminders here in the Vale of Glamorgan and more across the UK. I will continue to advocate and raise awareness and really hope to see every Childminder, school, playgroup, nursery and the wider community with a device in the near future.
