🌧️ EVENT CANCELLATION: The Ashford Ashes 🌧️

Due to the significant rainfall expected this weekend, we have sadly taken the decision to cancel all of our weekend cricket - including Sunday’s Ashford Ashes event.

With several weeks of the Summer term left to go, we need to protect our pitches to ensure they are in a fit state to host the remainder of our fixtures.

What happens next?
A huge thank you to everyone who signed up to play, spectate, or help behind the scenes. We really value your support and encouragement. We will provide further information in due course regarding plans for this event going forward.

🙏 In the meantime, please help us spread the word. Share this post or tag any friends and family you may have invited.

Thanks again for your understanding and support... stay dry this weekend! ☔

It's remarkable to me that several months ago, a seed of an idea for an event has grown into a tangible piece of school history that I hope will be treasured by our community for many years to come.

Expertly handcrafted in , containing the burnt ashes of a willow tree felled on site in 2016 - swipe to see the craftsmanship by Mr Adam Stew. Phenomenal.

Who will lift the urn for the first time at the inaugural Ashford Ashes cricket match on Sunday? Come along to find out! Link in our bio.

A huge congratulations to our former Ashford School Head of English for the publication of her debut romantic novel, After Ever After.

‘I completely lost myself in After Ever After and devoured it in two sittings. It is a gorgeous novel of love, loss and hope' Jennie Godfrey, Sunday Times bestselling author of The List of Suspicious Things

"Three years since the sudden death of her beloved husband Etienne Grenaud, and the end of her life in the beautiful French village of Monpazier, 30-year-old Ava is at a loose end. Now back in London, she spends most of her time with her semi-regular hookup Archie and working on the unfinished draft of her book: The Grief Diary. But when her editor tells her to head back to Monpazier to focus on finishing the book, Ava finds herself learning how to navigate life back in the small town without Etienne.

Ava struggles to come to terms with her feelings towards the town, especially after the arrival of Etienne's estranged brother, Florian, which digs up resentment from the past. But with the support of new friends, including her octogenarian landlady, Ava rediscovers the person she was before her husband, and finds out what her life could look like, After Ever After."

Perfect for fans of Emily Henry and Cecelia Ahern, this is a heartfelt, hopeful story about finding your way forward.

Congratulations, Hannah! I'm looking forward to grabbing my copy...

SAVED!

A note-worthy good news story for a .

Remember the vintage organ that we posted about a while ago? The one facing disposal to make way for our new Sixth Form centre?

Well, I am utterly chuffed to share that thanks to our incredible alumni community we were able to save the organ and find it a new home!

Alumna, Lucy (1991) Lucy spotted our urgent post and got in touch.

Her colleague, Charlotte's son, Sam, recently graduated from university and has been playing the organ for years.

With the help of his parents, Sam safely collected the organ from Coronation Hall.

Swipe to see some photos of the removal in action!

We are so pleased that this incredible piece of Ashford School history was saved and has found a new home where it will get plenty of use by a new generation of musicians.

Thank you, again, Lucy, Charlotte and Sam for pulling out all the stops for the rescue! Enjoy the music!

🚨 SOS! The ASHFORD ASHES needs YOU! 🚨

We are just over one week away from the big cricket clash on Sunday 7th June AshfordSchool_Prep but we are currently short on players!

Can you or someone you know play? If we don’t find 5 more players this week, we’ll have to cut the match down from a full 11-a-side to 8-a-side... We want a proper match, but we need you to make it happen.

🏏 Who can play? Parents, staff, friends of friends, seasoned pros or absolute beginners who haven’t picked up a bat since school. If you're willing to give it a go, you qualify.
⏱️ Short on time? We can easily sub you in and out if you can only commit to part of the afternoon.
🍰 The Reward? Eternal glory, community spirit and a brilliant, free cricket tea on the boundary.

Don't just watch from the sidelines... here's your chance to save the day!

Go on, be the hero!
