๐ŸŽŸ๏ธ๐ŸŒฟ WILDCRAFT TICKETS TICKETS OPEN THIS FRIDAY (26th June) - PLEASE READ! ๐ŸŒฟ๐ŸŽŸ๏ธ

Wildcraft is back on Saturday 18th July and tickets will be available from 26th June!

This year, we're asking people to book entry tickets based on HOW THEY TRAVEL to the festival, rather than by individual person. So if you're arriving by car, please book ONE TICKET PER VEHICLE, not per person.

Why? Quite simply, parking is our biggest challenge. Wildcraft continues to grow every year and we'd love everyone to help us reduce the number of vehicles travelling to the site by CAR SHARING wherever possible.

Better still, if you're local, why not walk or cycle? One of our favourite routes is the beautiful footpath that winds through the woodland from Aldington village and brings you straight into the heart of the festival.

Tickets are available FREE OF CHARGE, but you'll also have the option to make a donation when booking. We've SUGGESTED DONATION ยฃ10 per car, but every contribution, large or small, makes a real difference.

At Led by the Wild, we work incredibly hard to keep our events accessible. We never want cost to be a barrier to people enjoying nature, learning new skills or spending time together outdoors. Every single person involved in organising and running Wildcraft gives their time voluntarily, and any funds raised go directly back into our work with children, families and nature โ€” as well as helping us make next year's festival even better.

One final thing: you'll need to book your festival ticket before you can reserve places on any of the bookable workshops, so make sure you secure your place first!

We can't wait to welcome you for a fantastic day of nature, creativity, community, music and fun. ๐ŸŒฟ

CALLING ALL PRIMARY SCHOOLS!! EXCITING, FULLY FUNDED, OPPORTUNITY AWAITS!

๐ŸŒฟ Do you know a primary school that would love to do more for nature? ๐ŸŒฟ

Led by the Wild is inviting primary schools across Folkestone, Hythe, Romney Marsh, Ashford and neighbouring areas to take part in this exciting, fully funded opportunity.

Thanks to generous funding from the Reta Lila Howard Foundation and Edina Trust, Led by the Wild is offering an expanded Eco-Changemakers 2026/27 programme โ€“ completely FREE for participating schools.

Schools selected for the programme will receive:

๐Ÿƒ A bespoke conservation consultation and nature action plan

๐Ÿฆ‹ Support to create and deliver child-led environmental projects

๐ŸšŒ A fully funded visit to Led by the Wild (including transport)

๐ŸŒป Help to improve biodiversity and wildlife habitats on school grounds

๐Ÿ“š An Eco-Changemakers resource kit to support ongoing action

This is a fantastic opportunity for children to get hands-on with nature, learn about conservation, and make a real difference in their school and community.

We welcome nominations from both new schools and schools that have worked with us before, provided they are proposing a new nature-focused project.

If you know a school that would benefit, please encourage them to put themselves forward โ€“ or tag them below so they don't miss out! A representative of the school simply needs to complete this form by the 22nd July 2026: https://forms.gle/sRU4WKBWqm2DrENY8

Together, let's help raise the next generation of Eco-Changemakers. ๐ŸŒ๐Ÿ’š

Our Eco-Changemakers programme continued on Monday with a final visit to Stella Maris Primary School, Folkestone. The Led by the Wild team helped the children build bird boxes and put them up in the trees, trained them in positioning and how to use the Led by the Wild homemade reptile survey mats safely and after a chat about other things they can do to increase biodiversity helped them record their first biodiversity survey.
The children found a very interesting insect called Diplura โ€œtwo pronged bristle tailโ€ which foxed our experts and all the expert โ€œAppsโ€!!
Iโ€™ve included a video in the comments if youโ€™d like to learn more about this elusive creature!
Thank you to all the pupils and staff who participated in our Eco-Changemakers program and we hope to see you again soon!

Our nature garden - Then & Now ๐ŸŒฟ

The first photo was taken in 2019. The second was taken today (and yes the shed is still there - you just have to look for it!)

Just one tiny corner of change, in what was once a field with a few growing beds has become a thriving space for wildlife, learning and community. Every tree planted, habitat created and patch left wild has helped nature reclaim its place.

A reminder that when we dedicate even the smallest space to nature and give it time, amazing things happen๐Ÿ’š

Here's to the next seven years.

Hythe Community Cinema and local councillors are hosting the People's Emergency Briefing, a public event with discussion following the film.

This is a free event which is open to anyone.

However, please note that due to the nature of the film it is recommended that audiences be aged 16+.

It is based on the National Emergency Briefing in Westminster, as covered by ITV, C4 and The Times.

It is an eye opening film featuring nine leading UK scientists and experts updating us on the latest in the climate and nature crisis and its impact on everyday national life. The film features Chris Packham, Deborah Meaden, surprise guests and a wide range of Brits.

The film will be followed by a short discussion about what we can do and what it means locally.

Doors will open at 19.00hrs. Refreshments will be available prior to the start of the film.

Free parking is available locally.
There are often spaces alongside the canal very close to the Tin Tabernacle. Parking in the nearest car park at Mount Street (just across the main road) is free after 6 pm and is just a couple of minutes walk away.
