For 10 years, St. Boniface Street Links (SBSL) has been working to end homelessness and provide a path out of addiction in our community. On this frigid week, it is important to remember those struggling on the streets. Thanks to the SBSL outreach & housing staff, hundreds more people are safe and sheltered each year; making communities safer and creating pathways to long term recovery. One way you can support this work, is by signing up for the aptly named Coldest Night of the Year (CNOY) event, on February 28th. This annual cross Canada, family friendly fundraising walk (2 or 5km) raises funds for Canadian charities serving the most vulnerable. Sign up to my team "Palmquist's Pacers" or create your own walking team, and recruit friends, family, and colleagues to walk with you. Join us at 4:00 at Holy Cross Catholic Parish (252 Dubuc St.) our longtime event partner for food & refreshments, including warming up with coffee and hot chocolate (on the 5k route) at our 604 St Mary's Rd shelter and safe space.
