💊 As we get older, our bodies can become more sensitive to medications. But how do we know when a medication is still helping—and when its potential harms may outweigh its benefits?

Join us on September 16 for the free webinar: “Taking Medications Safely as You Age: What You Need to Know”.

You’ll learn:
🔹Why we become more sensitive to the effects of medications with age
🔹When the potential harms of medications can outweigh the potential benefits
🔹Essential questions to ask your healthcare professional
🔹How patients, caregivers, and healthcare professionals can work together to prevent medication-related harm

🎙️ Louise Papillon-Ferland, a member of our network’s Health Care Provider Committee will lead the session. Louise is a pharmacist with more than 20 years of experience who specializes in the care of older patients at the Institut Universitaire de Gériatrie de Montréal. She also teaches at the Faculté de pharmacie de l'Université de Montréal and researches medication use in older adults, with a particular interest in the risks associated with taking multiple medications.

Fraud and scams can have profound and lasting impacts on the mental and emotional well-being of older adults. We have two resources designed to support older adults in understanding and navigating the emotional impact of fraud, while also offering pathways toward healing and recovery. One resource is for older adults and the other for health care practitioners and allies.
