1) Job Title: Two full-time Summer Youth Instructors – Amharic, Dance, Music, and Drama Position

Type: Summer Employment

Location: Winnipeg

Start Date: June 17,2025
Compensation: Wage $15.80/hour, 30 hours/week,

Organization Overview: Ethio-Canadian Cultural Academy Inc. is a registered charity dedicated to empowering Black, immigrant, and minority youth through creative, cultural, and educational programs. Our summer programs promote cultural pride, artistic skills, and personal development.

Position Summary: We are hiring energetic and passionate youth (ages 15–30) to lead and support our summer program focused on different languages, traditional and modern dance, music, and drama. Successful candidates will engage children and youth in fun, educational, and culturally enriching activities.

Key Responsibilities:
•Plan and deliver engaging workshops in Tigrigna,/ Amharic/Oromiffa and Arabic dances, music, and drama
Support youth participants in developing language, performance, and creative skills
•Facilitate group activities that build confidence and teamwork
•Assist in organizing a final community performance/showcase
•Maintain a safe, inclusive, and respectful environment
•Participate in staff meetings and training sessions
•Help with set-up, clean-up, and documentation of program activities

Qualifications:
•Enthusiastic about working with children and youth
•Knowledge and/or lived experience culture, dance, music, and/or theatre
•Strong communication, leadership, and teamwork skills
•Dependable, responsible, and creative
•Experience in facilitation or teaching is an asset
•Must be legally eligible to work in Canada and meet Canada Summer Jobs requirements
