Please note that the 602 Gorge Road East location is permanently closed. 1Up is now located in the Royal Oak Plaza at 4460 West Saanich Road.

The Victoria Single Parent Resource Centre is a registered non-profit society committed to providing practical material supports, mental health and wellbeing support, educational opportunities, and a sense of hope for one-parent families. Active members can contact [email protected] to access our clothing room appointment or access other services. Members can receive up to ten free individual counselling sessions. Our other free services for members include a Clothing room, Wednesday food market day, Healthy Food Bag program for families with school aged kids, an annual school supplies drive, birthday gift program, and Christmas hamper program. The Centre offers a selection of life skills programs and workshops, parenting skill and development courses and parenting support groups that are scheduled from September to June. 1Up courses are free and open to everyone in the community. Harvest Haunt at Junction Cidery

Looking for a FREE Halloween plan for the whole family? Junction Cidery is hosting its Harvest Haunt tomorrow, Saturday, October 31st, from 12 to 8pm, and entry is free!

Here's what's happening:
🔦 Scavenger hunts
🎨 Face painting, 12:30-3:30pm
🎉 Bingo with Erin, 3-5:30pm
👻 Spooky orchard tours from 4pm
🎃 Watch the pumpkins get carved live and vote for your favourite, 4-5:30pm
🎪 Spooky circus performances, 6-7pm
🔥 Bonfire, 6-8pm

Pumpkin carving and costume contest winners will be announced at 5:30pm, so wear your best costume!

🎃 Trick or Treat! 👻 You're invited to Power To Be next Have A Go Day - and this time, it's on Halloween!

🧡 Their Have A Go Days are free, accessible, open community events where you can explore nature, make friends, and learn about Power To Be. They'll be joined by some wonderful community partners, delivering drop-in activities like:

🍬 Trick or Treating! Come in your costumes and join them in the morning for accessible Trick-or-Treating here at our Prospect Lake home! Planning your costume? Their community partner Moms Against Racism has a great educational resource on costumes and cultural appropriation--visit the link in our bio!

🐾 Pet therapy with Pacific Animal Therapy Society (PATS)!
🌲 Nature interpretation with Parks Canada and the Capital Regional District!
🦇 A Funky Halloween Dance with West Coast Reach Association!
🛶 Canoeing!
🍕🥗 Pizza and salad making with Island Chefs Collaborative!

🗺️ Where: Our gorgeous Prospect Lake site located at 4633 Prospect Lake Road.
🕓 When: Saturday, October 31st, 2026. Drop in from 10 AM - 2 PM.
💙 Cost: Free! Donations will be accepted at the event.

🌱 Details: Everyone is welcome and no RSVPs are required. They ask that anyone under the age of 19 or who has specific support needs be accompanied by adult support. Activities are available for sign up upon your arrival and run on a rotating basis. We will run the activities rain or shine, so dress appropriately for the weather. And please bring snacks and water!
