The District of Saanich is calling on the province to reinstate funds to the Community Housing Fund to get [the Garth Homer Society Centre for Belonging] project back on track.

“The province needs to reverse course, reinstate the Community Housing Fund, and work with municipalities and non-profit partners to build the affordable housing our communities need,” says Phelps Bondaroff.

The councillor tells CHEK he cycles past the society every day on his way to council.

“It’s a really important project,” he said.
