Ayum Creek is a CRD Regional Park located in Sooke within the traditional territories of the T'Sou-ke First Nation, and whose cultural use extends to the SC'IȺNEW̱ (Beecher Bay) Nation. TLC and Habitat Acquisition Trust co-hold a conservation covenant to protect the ecosystems of the park. Restoration work at Ayum Creek has been ongoing since 2017, and has largely been funded by the TD Bank Friends of the Environment Fund.

🦃🍂 Looking for a peaceful way to spend Thanksgiving weekend? Gather your family and enjoy the beauty of Abkhazi Garden in its autumn colours while supporting local artists during the final weekend of our Art Show Fundraiser.

🎨 Browse original paintings from the "Artists in the Garden" Resident Artist Program and Duncan Kemp's handcrafted wooden bowls, available for purchase in the The Teahouse at Abkhazi Garden. Proceeds are shared equally between the artists and the ongoing care and preservation of the Garden.

🌿 Abkhazi Garden is open 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. all weekend, including Thanksgiving Monday (October 12). Admission is by donation.

We look forward to welcoming you for a relaxing holiday visit surrounded by nature, art, and community.

🧡 Caring for the land means honouring, supporting, and listening to the people who have cared for it since time immemorial. As a land trust dedicated to protecting natural areas in what is now known as British Columbia, we recognize that conservation is inseparable from respecting the rights, knowledge, cultures, and leadership of Indigenous Peoples.

Today, our office is closed in observance of the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. We invite our community to take time to learn, listen, and reflect on Indigenous histories, the lasting impacts of residential schools, and the ongoing journey toward truth, healing, and reconciliation.

We are so grateful to The Victoria Foundation for helping us continue to steward ecosystems and connect with the community of nature-lovers across the Greater Victoria region!

So far the Community Grants Program has allowed us to:

💪🌱 Dedicate 120+ volunteer hours to invasive species removal at the Alston-Stewart community stewardship event in the Blenkinsop valley.

🔎🐸Conduct ecological monitoring at 40+ conservation covenants across the Greater Victoria region, ensuring the continued health of these sites.

🥰🎉Connect with hundreds of community members through our Passport To Nature event series.

👩‍🎨LABOUR DAY MONDAY, SEPT 7: Weather permitting, artists will be in attendance, with their artwork displayed in the garden. Open to the public.

🎨SEPT 8 - OCT 12: Artwork on Display in The Teahouse at Abkhazi Garden Closed Oct 5-6.
🦃THANKSGIVING MONDAY, OCT 12: Public viewing of the artwork in the Tearoom. Last day of art show.
