“It is unsettling to contemplate persons with AIDS or who are undergoing Cancer treatment being forced to go down to the drug emporium which operates in the downtown core of Victoria to acquire their marijuana from persons who are interested only in selling them drugs of unknown quality for profit. But on January 3 2002, but for compassion clubs such as Mr. Smith’s that was their only alternative.”

With short notice, the Victoria Cannabis Buyers Club is calling for a special meeting of the membership for Sunday June 14, 2026 to discuss our pending eviction from 1625 Quadra Street.

EDIT : THE MEETING WILL BE AT THE PANDORA STREET ENTRANCE TO CITY HALL AS THERE IS AN EVENT IN THE SQUARE. Interested members of the public and the press are welcome to attend.

Unfortunately, the circumstances of the VCBC have suddenly gotten even worse.

A phone call we expected from the mayor today did not happen. Efforts will be made to get in touch with her asap, but the fact that she has not come through with offers of help already does not bode well for us.

We hoped to be able to set up a tent out front and operate without having any cannabis in the store for a few months. However, the landlord’s lawyer is certain the province will find that unacceptable and proceed to seize the property.

This is a very frustrating, complex and difficult situation. Rather than discuss details here, we hope members can attend. We will make a video of the meeting and post it online for those unable to attend.

No one knows what to do or how this is going to work out. For many reasons, we need to work together to ensure the VCBC survives whatever happens in the next few days, weeks and months to come. Please help us make sure other members hear about and attend this very important gathering.
