Want to know something I've learned on this journey?
Leadership isn't about titles, degrees, or being in charge. The heart of good leadership comes from doing your own inner work.
The people who create safe spaces, build strong relationships, and make a real difference are the ones who are willing to look at themselves first. They take responsibility for their actions, work through their own struggles, keep their ego in check, and continue growing as human beings.
I've learned that we can't ask others to do work we're unwilling to do ourselves. Real leadership begins with self-awareness, humility, and a willingness to keep learning and healing.
Everything else is just managing people. 🪶❤️

Another relocation is happening today -
We are assisting J on her journey back home to her traditional territory with the Ahousaht Nation. Returning home is about more than transportation — it's about reconnecting with family, community, culture, and the supports that help people heal and move forward.
It has been a long road for J, and we are honoured to walk alongside her as she takes this next step.
Our Relocation Program begins with an application and interview process, with each plan guided by the goals and wishes of the individual. We continue to provide support and check-ins after folks return home because connection does not end when the trip does.
Safe travels, J. ❤️
Welcome home.

We are excited to share our updated Relocation Outreach Program and the continued growth of this important work ☆
Our program provides trauma-informed, one-on-one support to Indigenous relatives seeking to reconnect with family, community, culture, and home territories.
We assist with:
• Transportation planning and accompaniment
• Coordination with community and Nation partners

We are now serving Indigenous relatives experiencing homelessness across Greater Victoria, including those staying in shelters, receiving care in hospital, and individuals who are ready to begin their journey home.
Every relocation starts with a conversation.

Thank you to our community and partners for walking alongside us as we continue to meet people where they're at. ❤️

Tonight, we'll be joining other incredible organizations funded by the City of Victoria •
This is an opportunity for organizations to come together and speak before Mayor and Council about the programs making a difference in our community.
I'll be sharing about our Relocation Program and the impact we've seen in such a short time -
To date, we've successfully supported 12 participants in returning home and reconnecting with family, community, culture, and support systems.
These are more than numbers — they are folks who no longer have to survive alone on the streets/ hospital/ Shelters and who now have the opportunity to begin new chapters surrounded by those who love and support them.
We're grateful to the City of Victoria for investing in community-led solutions and for believing in the importance of helping people return home when that is their goal.
Thank you to everyone who has supported this work and to the participants who trusted us to walk alongside them on their journey home.

Thank you to our incredible volunteers - Nathan, Debbie, Amie, Naomi, and Alexondra - for joining us on outreach today. We served over 100 community members, and everyone loved the hamburger soup and requested more for next week 😋

We are grateful to receive support through the Giving Voice grant program -
This funding helps us provide culturally safe support for Indigenous women in Victoria who are experiencing homelessness and violence.
Through this program, we are able to walk alongside women on their healing journeys, offering connection, advocacy, peer support, and access to community resources in a good way.
Every woman deserves safety, dignity, and the opportunity to heal.
We are honoured to continue this work and to create spaces where Indigenous women feel seen, heard, and supported.

🪶 Outreach on Pandora -
Every Monday and Wednesday, our team parks on the 900 block of Pandora from 11 AM to 2 PM -
What started with a few snacks and coffee has grown into something much deeper. Outreach is about building relationships, offering support, and showing up consistently for community.
Along with coffee and homemade snacks, we provide:
🤎 Peer support
🧥 Clothing and seasonal items
🪥 Hygiene supplies
🏠 Referrals and resource navigation
✈️ Relocation support for those wishing to return home
Many of the folks we walk alongside have experienced poverty, homelessness, trauma, loss, and disconnection. Sometimes what someone needs most is a cup of coffee, a clean pair of socks, or simply someone willing to listen without judgment.
Our philosophy is simple:
Community • Dignity • Respect
Thank you to our volunteers, partners, and community members who help make this work possible. Together, we continue to show up in a good way. ❤️🪶
