L’hiver est l’une des saisons les plus difficiles de la guerre. Dans toute l’Ukraine des bénévoles travaillent à rendre la vie un peu plus sûre et plus chaude pour des familles faisant face à un hiver rempli d’incertitudes.

Le projet Câlins d’hiver, soutenu par l’Appel humanitaire pour l’Ukraine de la FCU et du CUC, a permis à The Small Projects Team (TSPT) et à the Union of Help to Kherson (UHK) de fournir 1 939 sacs de couchage à des familles avec enfants dans la région de Kherson. Winter is one of the hardest seasons of war. Across Ukraine, volunteers are working to make life a little safer and warmer for families facing another winter of uncertainty.

The Winter Hugs initiative, supported by the CUF-UCC Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal, allowed The Small Projects Team (TSPT) and the Union of Help to Kherson (UHK) deliver 1,939 sleeping bags to families with children in the Kherson region. Communities there remain close to the front line, facing daily attacks. Read more at

En mars dernier, Rayla Myhal du domaine Featherstone Estate Winery a contribué à rassembler quatre domaines viticoles de Niagara dont les propriétaires sont des personnes ukrainiennes, afin de collecter des fonds et de sensibiliser le public à ce qui se déroule en Ukraine. 🇺🇦

Ce même esprit de générosité est toujours à l’œuvre aujourd’hui. Grâce à la Fondation de la famille Myhal, chaque don afin aider l’Ukraine à se préparer à un nouvel hiver difficile sera doublé, pour chaque dollar et à hauteur d'un million de dollars.

✍️ Задовго до того, як історики почали відтворювати картину Голодомору за радянськими архівами, іноземні дипломати в Україні вже фіксували те, свідками чого ставали.

Світлана Павленко (Україна), лауреатка гранту Ініціативи «Спадщина Голодомору», досліджує звіти японського консульства в Одесі. Ці багаторічні дипломатичні спостереження дають рідкісний погляд ззовні на голод, який охопив південь України, — ракурс, якому в дослідженнях Голодомору досі приділялося мало уваги.

💬 «Історія українсько-японських зв'язків завжди була в центрі моїх досліджень. Моїм найбільшим викликом завжди було знайти способи донести результати цих досліджень до ширшої аудиторії та зробити внесок у національну історичну пам'ять України. Для мене це і честь, і відповідальність — долучити свою експертизу до роботи Національного музею Голодомору-геноциду як українській дослідниці». — Світлана Павленко.

🔷У межах Ініціативи «Спадщина Голодомору» дослідники відкривають нові свідчення та перспективи, які поглиблюють наше розуміння Голодомору та його міжнародного впливу.

Ініціатива реалізується в межах проєкту «Підтримка Музей Голодомору I Holodomor Museum в Україні», який імплементує Cowater International у партнерстві з Canada-Ukraine Foundation за фінансування Canada’s International Development – Global Affairs Canada.

✍️Long before historians began reconstructing the Holodomor from Soviet archives, foreign diplomats in Ukraine were already recording what they witnessed.

Svitlana Pavlenko (Ukraine), a Holodomor Legacy Initiative grant recipient, is researching reports from the Japanese consulate in Odesa. These long-term diplomatic observations offer a rare outside perspective on the famine as it unfolded across southern Ukraine — one that has received little attention in Holodomor scholarship.

💬“The history of Ukrainian–Japanese connections has always been at the center of my research. My greatest challenge has always been finding ways to bring the results of this research to a broader audience and to contribute to Ukraine's national historical memory. It is both an honor and a responsibility to contribute my expertise to the National Museum of the Holodomor-Genocide as a Ukrainian scholar.” — Svitlana Pavlenko.

🔷Through the Holodomor Legacy Initiative, researchers are uncovering new evidence and perspectives that deepen our understanding of the Holodomor and its international impact.

The initiative is delivered through the Support to Ukraine's National Museum of the Holodomor-Genocide project, implemented by Cowater International in partnership with Canada-Ukraine Foundation, and funded by Global Affairs Canada.
