ABOUT AFTER BREAST CANCER
Most people believe that surviving breast cancer treatment i

s the end of the battle, but in fact, it is the beginning of the healing journey. After treatment, breast cancer graduates face numerous physical, emotional, and financial challenges. Countless women struggle to re-establish themselves in the workforce, manage chronic health issues resulting from treatment, instate new healthy lifestyle habits, overcome depression, and become reacquainted with their new bodies.

1. RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT: To identify under-served areas in breast cancer survivorship that lack resources and provide evidence based information that can facilitate informed decision making on issues related to breast cancer survivorship.

2. DIRECT SUPPORT: To provide women who have no insurance and limited financial resources with a mastectomy bra, camisole and breast prosthesis at NO COST to them after breast removal surgery (mastectomy or lumpectomy).

3. SUPPORT FOR THE FUTURE: To provide resources that contribute to a woman’s Quality of Life (QOL) after breast cancer.

Cancer journey log
I knew something felt off with my body again

I hate waiting but tests must be done.

My message to you :
Don’t hesitate to take care of yourself
Your health
Your happiness

You know your body better than anyone.

Fight for the tests or the treatment
fight for YOU every time.

If you are too exhausted to fight
designate a friend or family member or colleague who you know will fight for you

Life after BREAST CANCER 🎀
It's real.

Thank you for sharing

The hardest part of cancer isn’t the treatment.

It’s the person you become afterward.

Because you don’t go back. You can’t. Cancer rearranges everything — your rhythms, your reactions, your entire relationship with time and what you’re willing to spend it on.

You wake up post-treatment living in a body that has been rewired. That matured faster than you chose. That has new limits, new dreams, and a much lower tolerance for things that no longer fit.

And the world hands you a script: be grateful. get back to normal. stay positive. give yourself grace.

But there is no normal to go back to. The woman who walked into treatment and the woman who walked out are not the same person.

That grief is real. So is the beauty of it.

Both can exist at the same time.

You are not broken. You are not a downgrade of who you were.

You are someone who is mid-rebirth. Mid-evolution. Becoming something that doesn’t have a name yet — but that you can feel.

Our charity bonspiel, an annual tradition since 1962, continues to bring teams and their families together.

This year, 89 curlers across 23 teams came out to support the Canadian Cancer Society and After Breast Cancer (ABC). People travelled from all over Ontario, and one retiree even flew down from England.

Isaac, a portfolio planner in real estate, who first joined the event as a co-op student, returned for his fourth year, this time with his wife, Alex: “It’s a chance to reconnect, meet new people, and play a sport we love, all for a great cause.”

Through our employee giving program, we are building a culture rooted in generosity and engagement, empowering employees to support the charities and causes they care deeply about. A huge thank you to Bryan, Greg, Kimberly, Lynn, and Ryan for leading this year’s bonspiel with heart.

A very important message from 'our big sister.'
Thank you, Farah for sharing and for your advocacy.
Breast Cancer 🎀 does not discriminate.
Early testing and detection saves lives.

Sending you all of our love ❤️ and support.

I have breast cancer 💗 and I’m ok.

Caught early. Surgery next week.

But here’s the part I need you to hear:

I had no family history.
No symptoms.
No lump.
No warning sign.

So please hear me when I say this: if you’re over 40, book your mammogram.

In Ontario, you do not need a doctor’s referral to get screened through the Ontario Breast Screening Program if you’re 40 to 74. You can book it yourself.

Don’t wait for your body to whisper something.
Don’t wait until life gets less busy.
Don’t wait because you’re scared.

Go online. Book the appointment.

Send this to the women you love.
Remind your friends.
Remind your sisters.
Remind your moms.

Early detection changes everything.

I’ll be okay. And I want you to be okay too. 💕
