HAND DRUMMING AT THE NCCT
Join us today, Monday, October 5, from 5:30–7:30 PM at 16 Spadina Rd. in the Auditorium for an evening of songs, teachings, history and stories connected to the drum.
Joey Twins & guests will guide us through the evening. Bring your own drums and rattles if you have them — drums and rattles will also be provided for those who don’t.
Refreshments and snacks will be provided.
Everyone is welcome to come drum, learn and share in the evening.

Keep learning, speaking, and connecting through Anishinaabemowin this October at the Native Canadian Centre of Toronto!
Whether you’re new to the language or have been participating for a while, there are several opportunities to join us throughout the month, including Beginner sessions, Group A, virtual learning, and Aambe Anishinaabemodaa language-only speaking circles with games.
🌿 New participants are welcome to join the virtual lunch & learn sessions and Monday & Thursday programming.

There’s lots happening at the NCCT Youth Department this month! From creative cooking, button making, dreamcatcher workshops and ribbon skirts to game nights, self-care, slime making, poster making and a Halloween Party

There’s something for everyone!

Youth can also join us for our Big Drum Socials every Thursday at 6 PM and Public Legal Education for Youth from 4:30–6 PM.

Join us every Thursday evening at the Native Canadian Centre of Toronto for our weekly Drum Social a welcoming space to come together in community through drumming, singing, dancing and connection.

Come share in the music, enjoy a meal, grab a coffee and spend time with community. Whether you’re there to drum, dance, listen or simply enjoy the evening, everyone is welcome.

NCCT will be closed Wednesday, September 30 as our team joins the Legacy Gathering at Nathan Phillips Square.

Indigenous Language Revitalization on Flow 98.7

We’re proud to see NCCT’s Anishinaabemowin Program highlighted on Flow 98.7 in a special conversation leading up to the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.

Anishinaabemowin Program Manager Lena Recollet joined host Jonathan Shaw and David A. Moses from Six Nations to discuss the importance of Indigenous language revitalization and the deep connections between language, culture, history, land and the worldview of our ancestors.

Lena also highlighted the work happening right here at NCCT through our Anishinaabemowin Program, as well as the Cedar Basket and the Legacy Gathering at Nathan Phillips Square.

A special Miigwetch to Flow 98.7 for creating space for these important conversations and providing a platform for Indigenous voices and stories to be shared with the community.

We’re grateful for opportunities like this to share the work happening at NCCT and to continue creating awareness around the importance of Indigenous language revitalization.

NCCT Presents: Children Are Our Future Pow Wow!

A special day celebrating our children, culture and community is coming up at the Native Canadian Centre of Toronto!

Join us on Saturday, November 21, 2026, for an afternoon of dancing, drumming, food, prizes and community connection.

11:00 AM – 4:00 PM
Grand Entry • 12:00 PM
16 Spadina Rd, Toronto

This event is for children ages 0–16, with a kid-friendly feast, door prizes and a special gift for all registered dancers!

Children are encouraged to wear their Ribbon Shirts, Ribbon Skirts and Regalia.
