🏡 For Kwame, the past year brought a big transition and a new chapter.

With support from several teams across Community Living Toronto, Kwame worked to find a home that could support his needs and help him stay connected to the people and activities he enjoys.

In May 2025, Kwame moved into Roundwood, where he was welcomed by his new housemates, including several familiar faces from Fairfax. Since then, he has settled into his new home, continuing to enjoy time at Fairfax, shooting hoops and staying active at Variety Village. 🏀

For Kwame, the transition has meant more than finding a new home... it was about finding a place where he can continue to build connections and be part of a community. 💙💚

🎙️Season 4 Episode 9 is LIVE!

In this episode of Community Chats, Don Logie, Community Living Toronto’s Board Chair, joins Brad Saunders, CEO of Community Living Toronto, for a conversation about leadership, inclusive housing, and the future of community living.

Together, they explore Don’s decades of experience in real estate development and affordable housing, and how that experience connects to his work with Community Living Toronto. They also talk about how not-for-profit organizations can create more affordable and inclusive housing communities, the importance of having the right expertise and partnerships, and the potential of projects like Lawson Redevelopment to create more opportunities for people to live, belong, thrive and be part of their communities.

💬 Don also reflects on his journey as a parent to his son, Tom, and what that experience has taught him about communication and the importance of the right supports. As he begins his term as Board Chair, he shares what he hopes to see for Community Living Toronto, including more opportunities for community participation and continued progress in creating housing and supports that meet the needs of people with intellectual disabilities and their families.

Community Living Toronto is pleased to announce the appointment of Don Logie as Chair of the Board of Directors for a two-year term.

Don brings extensive experience in real estate development and asset management. As Board Chair, he will work alongside the Board, CLTO leadership and community partners to support our vision of a Toronto where people with intellectual disabilities are valued, included and have opportunities to live full and meaningful lives.

💬 Speaking about his appointment, Don said, “I’m honoured to take on this role and to build on the strong foundation this Board and organization have created. Community Living Toronto is a large but nimble organization that plays an important, leading role in creating communities where everyone has the opportunity to contribute and live a good life.”

At Community Living Toronto, we extend our sincere thanks to Stephanie Gawur, who has just completed her two-year term as Board Chair. During her time in the role, she provided steady leadership and thoughtful guidance, helping support our work and priorities while keeping the people we support and their families at the heart of the organization.

Today, on September 30, we recognize the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation and honour the children who never returned home from residential schools, Survivors, their families and communities.

We encourage everyone to take time to reflect on the ongoing impacts of this history, and learn and participate in a way that is meaningful to you. 🧡

Whether you wear orange, attend a community event, learn more about the history and legacy of residential schools, or take a personal moment of reflection, every action can be part of the ongoing journey toward reconciliation.
