Headache is a common but complex clinical presentation, with different headache types requiring different approaches to assessment and management. For chiropractors, understanding when and how the cervical spine may contribute to a patient’s headache, and when it may not, is an important part of clinical decision-making.

Join us at 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 28 for our newest live CE webinar, “Common Headaches and the Cervical Spine: Assessment, Evidence and Treatment”.

In this webinar, Dr. Shawn Thistle, B.Kin. (Hons.), DC, will explore common headache presentations and the potential role of the cervical spine across different headache types. Drawing on current research and clinical experience, he will discuss approaches to assessment and differential diagnosis, evidence for available treatment options, and factors that may help explain why certain patients respond to treatment while others do not.

September 30 is Orange Shirt Day and the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.
We wear orange to honor residential school survivors, remember those who never returned home, and acknowledge the ongoing trauma carried by Indigenous families and communities.

Wearing orange is one way to show support, and, along with reflecting on the history and impacts of residential schools, we take steps toward a more understanding and compassionate future.

September is Arthritis Awareness Month. We're sharing four examples of how a chiropractor can provide you with drug-free, non-invasive ways to manage your arthritis and its pain.

Following an initial assessment, history, and physical examination, your chiropractor can recommend which treatments are appropriate for your specific arthritis management needs.

1. PATIENT EDUCATION: Education builds confidence. Chiropractors provide guidance on pacing, flare‑up management, and self‑care strategies that help you stay active and in control.

2. SPINAL MANIPULATION: Spinal manipulation may offer short‑term pain and mobility improvements for patients with some forms of arthritis.

3. SOFT-TISSUE THERAPY: Soft‑tissue techniques may reduce muscle tension and help improve your mobility.

4. EXERCISE GUIDANCE: Exercise is the foundation of arthritis care. Chiropractors guide patients toward safe, effective movements that improve strength, mobility, and daily function.

Looking for a spine, muscle and joint expert to help you prevent or manage your arthritis? Visit your local chiropractor! In Ontario, you can visit a chiropractor without a referral from a family physician or other health care professional.
