Opera on the Avalon is committed to turning our history into art though new commissions, the first of which was Atlantic Canada’s first grand opera, Ours, commemorating the 100th Anniversary of the Battle of Beaumont Hamel, written by composer John Estacio and librettist Robert Chafe.
