Saying farewell to our Habitat Restore Manager Jon, you will be missed!💙

Settling into a new home comes with its own expenses.

From bedding and curtains to dishcloths, the cost of everyday essentials can quickly add up.

Thanks to a generous donation from Pipers, our Glendale Avenue families were able to pick out household items themselves, choosing what suited their needs and personal style. This support helps ease the cost of getting settled while allowing families to add their own touches to their new homes.

Thank you, Pipers, for your generosity and for helping our families feel at home. 💙

🧡 Today, we honour the Survivors of residential schools, their families, and Indigenous communities, while reflecting on the lasting impacts of this history.
Reconciliation is a journey rooted in listening, learning, and taking meaningful action. We remain committed to supporting Indigenous-led initiatives that strengthen housing, community well-being, and opportunities for future generations.

Together, through safe, affordable housing and community-led solutions, we can help build stronger, healthier, and more inclusive communities. 🧡

Ahead of September 30, Habitat for Humanity NL gathered at the Restore for our second annual “Orange Shirt Day” event to honour survivors of the residential schools and those who never returned home.

We are truly grateful to our guests of honour, St. John's Mi'kmaw Women's Circle, for sharing their powerful teachings and the Mi’kmaw culture with our community. Their moving performance filled our hearts with emotion and reaffirmed Habitat NL’s commitment that “Every Child Matters”.

Thank you for joining us and sharing such a generous gift. It was a privilege to listen, learn and reflect together, deepening our commitment to healing and a new path forward.

A special thank you to Jumping Bean Coffee on Kelsey Drive and Tim Hortons Thorburn Road for generously providing coffee for the event.
