A new chapter for literacy and learning.

As part of Northpine Foundation's broader investments, we're proud to establish the new Bell Island Education Outcomes Initiative.

Through additional reading support, learning assessments, and school-readiness programming, children will have more opportunities to strengthen their skills, grow in confidence, and continue developing as learners.

We're grateful to Northpine Foundation for its trust in the YMCA and its commitment to making a lasting difference for children and families who call Bell Island home.

Growing connections through community. 🌱

Our Newcomer Services team recently hosted its second Plant Potting Event.
Participants selected plant clippings, potted them by hand, and took home something new to grow and enjoy.

Designed to support mindfulness, positive mental health, and social connection, the event created a welcoming space for participants to learn, share, and connect. Thank you to everyone who helped bring the event to life, and to all who joined us!

Holiday closure notice 📢

Please note that YMCA of Newfoundland and Labrador facilities, programs, and services will be closed on Monday, October 12, in observance of Thanksgiving Day.

This includes:

- Ches Penney Family YMCA, Placentia Regional YMCA, Marystown YMCA, Central Labrador YMCA, and Bonavista Regional YMCA;
- Pre-K and School Age Child Care program sites;
- Employment, Enterprise and Newcomer Services (EENS); and
- Association Services Office.

Regular operations will resume on Tuesday, October 13.
