The room was filled with so much creative energy and laughter! We thank all that attended and also those who donated to the silent auction! We raised over $5000 dollars for our charity. We have been so touched by the kindness and generosity of a local Grade 6 student, Foster Smith.

As part of a school project, Foster’s class was asked to complete four hours of volunteer work. Wanting to make a meaningful difference, Foster decided to raise money for a charity.

He wanted to support a cause that would help people in his own community. After discussing it with his family, and knowing close friends who have been affected by cancer, Forest chose to support The Ruby Slipper & Black Boot Fund.

Foster collected donations and then completed a 5 km run to raise funds for our organization.

This weekend we were presented his donation of $375.

We are incredibly grateful for Foster’s compassion, initiative, and generosity. It is inspiring to see such a young person thinking of others and taking action to help those facing difficult circumstances.

Thank you, Foster, for your kindness and support. Your efforts will make a difference in the lives of local families, and we are honoured to have been chosen as the recipient of your fundraising project.
