Sunshine Coast Community Services Society Sunshine Coast Community Services is a non-profit dedicated to making our community stronger, safer and more resilient.

We provide crisis response, programs, housing, and advocacy for community members in need through more than 30 programs and services. We are honoured to provide services on the unceded, ancestral and traditional lands of the shíshálh (Sechelt) Nation and the Skwxwu7mesh Uxwumixw (Squamish Nation). We offer more than 30 programs in four key areas - Community Action and Engagement; Together Against

Violence; Child and Family Counselling; and Family, Youth and Children's Services. Our programs support pregnant and new moms, families, children, youth, adults, seniors and people living with mental health challenges, through crisis response, support programs, housing, and advocacy.

Our Together Against Violence team will be tabling at the Sunshine Coast Pride Festival from 1pm to 5pm.

The Pride Festival is a great opportunity for community connection.

There will be a Pride March at noon (starting at Davis Bay pier), followed by the festival at Mission Point Park in Davis Bay from 1pm to 5pm.

B.C. Seniors Week happens every year, and it’s a great time to recognize and connect with the seniors in your community!

🌼 We are loving the Family Place garden! 🌼

Over the past while, we’ve had parents and babies and tots and SCCSS volunteers spending some time making the garden area at our Family Place location more welcoming.

We appreciate the donation of an outdoor play kitchen to the space, as well as all the artwork hand-crafted by some of the regulars at our Bellies and Babies and Parent and Tot Drop-In programs.

We’ve even had some ongoing maintenance of our garden beds by SCCSS volunteers, which is a HUGE HELP!

We are grateful for all the attention this community space is receiving, as we gear up for a summer of amazing activities ☀️

The Coast Wide Food Bank Drive is back!

Join us in teaming up with local organizations and grocery stores to help re-stock food bank shelves.

📅 Saturday, May 30th
🕕 10am to 3pm

Proceeds from this Saturday will go to:
+ Sunshine Coast Food Bank (SCCSS)
+ TSA on the Coast
+ St. Bart's Gibsons, Foodbank & Hot Lunch
+ Pender Harbour Food Bank Society

Every donation makes a difference! We’re collecting non-perishable foods in jars and cans - think sauces, soups, beans, honey, peanut butter, and canned seafood.

Three cheers for the Sunshine Coast Men's Soccer League for raising $550 for Building Together at their year-end tournament! ⚽

We really appreciate the support - every dollar helps us open doors to 35 units of safe and affordable housing for women and children at risk of violence, and a new community hub that everyone can access.

Congratulations as well to the Trashers, who took home the championship with a 3–0 win over Halfmoon Bay FC.

Natasha and Kelly from Tom Harris Cellular popped by our Wharf Avenue office recently and dropped off a generous donation in support of our family and youth programming!

Hannah and Ivy-Jean from the Family, Youth and Children’s Services team were there to receive the cheque, and it was so nice to meet these community members in person.

Many thanks to Adam Hoult and the Sechelt Volunteer Fire Department!

Adam raised $2,050 for the Food Bank from the members of the Sechelt Fire Department, in honour of his younger brother Kyle Hoult.

When Kyle Hoult began his battle with leukemia at the age of 6, his Make a Wish Foundation request was 'for no children to be hungry'.

That sparked a mission for Kyle and his family to start contributing to food banks in Hamilton, where they lived.

When Kyle passed in 2001 at the age of 14, his family began the annual Kyle Hoult Food Drive in memory of Kyle and his generous spirit.

We are heartened to see Kyle’s legacy live on, and if you would like to honour Kyle's wish, contributions can be made to the Food Bank by visiting sccss.ca/donate ❤️

✨ The stars were shining at last week’s Arrowhead Clubhouse fashion show! ✨

At the first annual Remix Runway Fashion Show, Arrowhead Clubhouse members and staff were struttin’ their stuff, turning heads with unique fashion pieces and untamed SWAGGER!

“We owned it, we flipped it, we rocked it” was the tagline for the show, as participants were invited to “step in and watch members turn ordinary clothes into fearless statements – exploding with creativity, owning their style, and spreading pure, unapologetic joy.”

All the outfits were assembled from items donated to Arrowhead over the last 3 months. Each year Arrowhead receives over 1,400 donations from our wonderful Sunshine Coast community – thank you!

We look forward to seeing you again next year!
