It's official! Richmond now has 11 Miyawaki Forests. Thanks to volunteers and city staff for making our newest Miyawaki at McLean Park a reality. It was a great planting day! Check out the Richmond News for more details in their recent article. Thanks also to the Richmond News for covering local news of importance!

On the Garden City Lands for a bog tour with Dr. Bomford. The first bog tours were led by Councillor Michael Wolfe and we are so happy to see the tours continue under Dr Bomford! It's unusual and wonderful to have a bog in the centre of our city. And we are grateful for Michael Wolfe and Mike Bomford for sharing the richness of the bog with others.

Who is this man digging a hole in his suit? Richmond's very own Henry Yao, MLA at the time; digging a hole to plant the very first one-square-metre of Miyawaki Forest in Richmond. Now we're at Miyawaki #10 with Miyawaki #11 coming up in September! Thank you Henry Yao for helping to get the "ball rolling" by preparing the ground for biodiversity that benefits humans and wildlife alike. Positive change needs active participation. Never mind getting a suit dirty!
