Its Throwback Thursday so let’s chat about some of Raiders history!

The RMFL Raiders didn’t simply survive after Richmond high-school football disappeared. The Raiders became the remaining community-based football pathway in Richmond after the school programs were gone.

Today the RMFL describes itself as providing year-round football opportunities, including coed flag, girls flag, coed tackle, development training and other programs including a rich history of cheerleading!

That makes the Raiders’ history much more than a youth-football story—it is arguably the continuation of Richmond’s organized football tradition after the high-school programs disappeared in 2017.

Check thencomments on this post for an article from 2018 reflecting on some of the history of Richmond football and the RMFL.

This season, the Jr Bantams from Richmond and South Delta joined forces.

And this weekend, they earned another solid win by showing just how powerful teamwork can be. Every play reflected their trust, commitment, and determination to succeed together... two communties becoming one unit.

Congratulations, team! Keep building that brotherhood, keep working hard, and keep believing in one another.

GO RAIDERS! GO RAMS! GO RAMMERS! 🖤💛🏈

NATIONAL COACHES WEEK | U14 RAMMERS

Today we’re celebrating the coaches behind our U14 Rammers!

This season has brought something a little different for our U14 athletes, with the Richmond Raiders and South Delta Rams joining forces to create one team. Bringing two programs together takes flexibility, commitment and a shared focus on giving these players the best possible football experience.

Led on the Raiders side by Head Coach Mike Gill, alongside Raiders coaches Mike T, Ryan, Tony, Raj and Scott, this group brings a great mix of experience, football knowledge, positivity and passion to the field.

Their focus goes well beyond football skills - they’re helping players build confidence, accountability, mental toughness, strong relationships and the kind of team culture that supports growth both on and off the field.

We also want to recognize and thank the South Delta Rams coaching staff who have worked alongside our Raiders coaches this season. The time, energy and collaboration from both organizations is what makes the Rammers possible.

Thank you to all of our U14 coaches for everything you continue to give to these athletes and this team.

NATIONAL COACHES WEEK | U12

Today we’re celebrating our U12 coaching team!

With decades of combined coaching experience, this group brings an incredible amount of football knowledge, commitment and heart to the Raiders. Their focus goes beyond developing football skills - they’re also helping athletes build confidence, resilience, discipline, accountability and respect.

Led by Head Coach Ermias, alongside Assistant Coaches Aarron, Richard, Jason, Trent and Eric, this team is committed to helping the next generation of Raiders grow as players, teammates and young people.

Their experience, leadership and dedication continue to make a lasting impact on our athletes and our program.

Thank you, coaches, for the time, energy and experience you continue to pour into our athletes!

Today we’re celebrating the amazing coaches behind our Richmond Raiders Cheer Program!

Our cheer coaches bring so much more to the program than routines and game-day performances. They create an environment where athletes can build confidence, learn to trust one another, develop new skills, form strong friendships and grow both as individuals and as a team.

Behind every practice, performance and new skill is a tremendous amount of time, patience, creativity and encouragement. Our coaches help guide athletes through challenges, celebrate their progress and remind them that growth doesn’t always happen all at once - sometimes it comes one small step at a time.

We are incredibly grateful to Tanya, Christina, Emma, Emily, Rennia and Dorna for everything they bring to our cheer athletes and to the Raiders community. Their commitment helps create a program where kids feel supported, challenged, included and proud of what they accomplish together.

Thank you for the energy, heart and countless hours you pour into our athletes throughout the season.

Happy National Coaches Week!
