COPE 397 would like to extend our congratulations to the Officers elected at the recent Canadian Labour Congress Convention, including President Bea Bruske, Executive Vice-Presidents Siobhán Vipond and Marc-Édouard Joubert, and Secretary-Treasurer Lily Chang. We wish all of them success as they continue the important work of fighting for workers and strengthening the Labour movement across Canada.

COPE 397 was proud to be represented at Convention by Jennifer Adams and Jason Hicks in their roles as Region 3 Vice-Presidents of COPE National, joining delegates from across the country in important discussions about solidarity, organizing and the future of our movement.

We would also like to extend a very special thank you to the incredible staff of the Canadian Labour Congress for the tremendous amount of work that goes into organizing and running a successful Convention. The long hours, coordination and behind-the-scenes effort never go unnoticed — and a special shoutout to all of the hardworking COPE members whose efforts helped make the Convention such a success.

Together we are STRONGER.

COPE 397 was proud to push for and take part in a provincial Lobby Day to advocate for strengthened workers rights in Saskatchewan, across all party lines.

Thank you to the Saskatchewan Federation of Labour for seeing this through and doing the heavy lifting to get this important action off the ground.

A little delayed, but no less heartfelt — we wanted to take a moment to thank all of the incredible COPE 397 members who took part in the 2026 SFL/CLC Spring School this year.

From first-time participants to seasoned activists, it was inspiring to see so many of our members investing in their education, building new skills, sharing ideas and strengthening our movement together. The knowledge, energy and solidarity that comes out of these schools always carries back into our workplaces, our union and our communities.

A special thank you as well to our own President, Jason Hicks, for once again serving as a facilitator and helping pass on valuable institutional knowledge and experience to the next generation of union activists and leaders. Having COPE 397 members not only attending, but helping lead and educate within the broader Labour movement, is something we can all be proud of.

Thank you again to everyone who participated, supported and represented COPE 397 so well this spring.

Together we are STRONGER.

COPE 397 members and allies — this is a series of events worth checking out.

The “Ask a Trans Person Anything” tour is making stops across the Prairies this summer with activists and speakers and Dr. Victoria Bucholtz.

For anyone who isn’t familiar with Fae, she was a guest speaker and panelist at the 2025 COPE SEPB Convention, as well as a speaker at the recent CLC convention — and is always an insightful, engaging and thought-provoking speaker to hear from.

These events are designed as open conversations where people can ask questions, hear different perspectives, and engage respectfully on issues affecting trans and q***r communities across Canada.
