The strength of our horse community has never been more evident than it was over the past week.

As the recent wildfire unfolded, so many people opened their gates, offered their barns, trailers, pastures, feed, time, and support without hesitation. Neighbours helped neighbours, complete strangers stepped up, and together we ensured that horses and their owners had somewhere safe to go. It was a powerful reminder of what makes the Pemberton Valley horse community so special.

To every single person who offered a helping hand—whether you provided a place to stay, hauled horses, shared supplies, coordinated information, checked in on others, or simply reached out with support—thank you. Your kindness, generosity, and willingness to help did not go unnoticed.

While we’re incredibly grateful for how our community responded, situations like these also remind us of the importance of being prepared. The Pemberton Valley Horse Association will be taking the time to discuss what we’ve learned from this event and explore ways we can better organize and support our equestrian community during future emergencies. Our hope is to develop a plan and resources that will help everyone respond quickly, safely, and with confidence should the need ever arise again.

A MASSIVE THANK YOU to the firefighters that came from all over the lower mainland to help our little town. We are forever grateful for your hard work and time.

Thank you again to every volunteer, property owner, and community member throughout the sea to sky who came together when it mattered most. This is what community looks like, and we’re proud to be part of it. ❤️

Pemberton horses will be showing up in style for the event and we are in need of one gracious citizen that would be willing to help us collect p**p 💩 after the horses. A wheelbarrow & fork is supplied, even better if you have a side by side!

What an incredible day at the 3rd Annual PVHA Social Event! ☀️🎉🐴

We are so grateful to all of the families, members, and community supporters who came out to join us—even in the scorching heat. Your enthusiasm, smiles, and support made the day truly special.

A heartfelt thank you also goes out to our generous sponsors for their kind donations. Your contributions played a huge role in helping us raise funds for the association and making this event such a success.

It was wonderful to see our community come together, connect, and celebrate. Thanks to everyone who attended, volunteered, donated, and supported the event. We couldn’t have done it without you!

Also a huge shout out to Trish O’Toole and Jim for hosting us again this year. Your property is such a pleasure to look at!
