Kutenai Art Therapy Institute The Kutenai Art Therapy Institute offers a comprehensive and immersive art therapy training program.

The Kutenai Art Therapy Institute (KATI) is an art therapy school offering a fully accredited, two-year, graduate-level diploma program. Our curriculum embodies the interplay between creativity, land-based practice, and collective care, expressed through transformative education and community service. Students can take the program in one of two formats: campus hybrid or online hybrid. We are located in the beautiful mountain town of Nelson, British Columbia, on unceded Indigenous territory.

Join us for a closed 8-week online art therapy group designed for women who are ready to explore a more grounded, self-led way of being. Through creative, reflective, and relational art-making, you will be supported in deepening self-expression, strengthening boundaries, and reconnecting with yourself in a compassionate and meaningful way.⁠

What happens when you slow down and truly connect with the materials in front of you?⁠

Join us Thursdays from June 18 – Aug 20, 9:30am–12:30pm PDT for an experiential online workshop where you will explore the therapeutic qualities of a wide range of art media.⁠

Through hands-on art-making with paint, collage, clay, fabric, and natural materials, you will be invited to deepen self-expression, build self-awareness, and engage in meaningful reflection through art, writing, and group discussion. This workshop also introduces foundational relational skills within a therapeutic arts studio setting.⁠

Reconnect with creativity, sustainability, and the natural world through this experiential online workshop with Kutenai Art Therapy Institute.⁠

From May 19 - June 11, join us on Tuesdays & Thursdays (1:00–4:30pm PDT) as we explore art-making through an ecological lens, working with found, recycled, and nature-based materials to create meaningful, expressive work.⁠

✨ What to expect:⁠
• Hands-on artmaking using everyday and natural materials⁠
• Exploration of “earth art,” fiber, sculpture, and upcycled creations⁠
• Reflection on symbolism, metaphor, and ecological identity⁠
• Trauma-informed, relational, and strengths-based facilitation⁠
• A balance of discussion, creativity, and self-reflection⁠

No prior art experience needed, just curiosity and a willingness to explore.⁠
