A big thank you to the Aberdeen Public School Student Parliament for organizing a food donation drive for Crouch Neighbourhood Resource Centre during their Meet the Family Night this week!

It’s wonderful to see students taking an active role in supporting their community and learning how small acts of kindness can make a difference. When children come together to support their neighbours, they help build a stronger, more caring community for everyone.

Thank you to the students, families, and school community who contributed to this drive and helped support local families.

Come take some time for yourself, explore your creativity, and connect with others through art and nature.

Looking for something to do on Friday nights?

We’re excited to launch the Oshki-Bimaadizi Youth Program in partnership with the Indigenous Fellowship of Hamilton Road!

Starting Friday, October 9, youth ages 12+ are invited to join us for an evening of sports, homework support, employment resources, time to connect with friends, and so much more.

This program is open to all youth ages 12+

Whether you want to get active, hang out with friends, get some help with school or employment, or just have a welcoming place to spend your Friday evening, there’s something for you.

After learning about National Day for Truth and Reconciliation and why we wear orange shirts, children in the Afterschool Program took a short walk to the Mushkeeki Gitigan at South Branch Park. There, we reflected on what we learned in school today, including some of the cool and interesting things we know about Indigenous culture.

We were so glad to spend the evening in the beautiful garden, exploring nature, and connecting with each other as we left behind some kindness rocks for others to enjoy.

When the Afterschool Program thinks about truth and reconciliation, we remember that everyone belongs in our community and is a part of our ASP family. We are very grateful for this space right in our community to explore and reflect.

Women’s Art Group is tomorrow (October 1)!

Inspired by artist Amber Vittoria, we’ll explore colour, shape, and movement as we create our own abstract “colour ribbon” artwork. Using simple lines, overlapping shapes, and playful colour combinations, participants will create a unique piece that reflects their own style and creativity.

No art experience needed! Come join us for a creative afternoon and see where the colours take you.
