It’s Week 8 of Menstrual Cycle Education!🩸📔

Did you know an athlete’s menstrual cycle can influence how they feel in their body?
Hormonal shifts - especially in the Luteal and Menstrual phases - can lead to bloating, water retention, or changes in how clothing fits. Even small physical changes can impact confidence, comfort, and how an athlete shows up to train.

As coaches, we set the tone. When we emphasize effort, skill, and growth over appearance, we create a training space where athletes feel accepted and supported through every phase of their cycle.

When athletes feel understood, they show up with more confidence - even on days when their bodies feel different.

📣 Registration is NOW OPEN for the Grassroots Diploma for Fall 2026! ⚽️ Secure your spot - register by Tuesday June 9th.

The course is a requirement for:
--> Coaches actively coaching in the Regional I-Model league who are on a Coach Development Plan
--> Coaches working within grassroots age groups who are planning to progress to be a Head Coach in the Regional I-Model league or serve as an Assistant Coach for U13 OPDL
--> Ontario Cup Head Coaches

It’s Week 7 of Menstrual Cycle Education!🩸📔

Small adjustments make a big difference. Throughout the cycle, athletes may experience shifts in energy, soreness and sleep. Building recovery into your training environment helps them stay consistent and confident.

Normalize cooldowns, offer lighter variations when needed, and check in with a simple "how is your body feeling today?"

When recovery is expected, not earned, athletes feel supported and stay healthier long-term.
