Meet Bukhosi Ndlovu from the City of London, a member of the Sponsored Employee team for his second year in a row!

Bukhosi values how working as a Sponsored Employee leads to mindfulness and meaningful relationships.

After getting to know those we help, such as by visiting United-Way funded agencies and hearing personal stories, Bukhosi notes how important it is to recognize people as individuals and not define them by the circumstances we see on the surface.

Through the Sponsored Employee program, people can develop empathy and be part of a team that brings people together to create a community where everyone feels seen and valued.

Meet Valentina Raigoza from St. Joseph's Health Care Foundation, one of this year’s Sponsored Employees!

For Valentina, being a Sponsored Employee is about more than taking on a new role. It is an opportunity for personal growth and a deeper connection to community.

By participating in community walks in London and St. Thomas, Valentina started to see the world through a new lens. Her experiences have strengthened her knowledge on the challenges that people face every day, and it encouraged her to make a difference.

Through the Sponsored Employee program, people can get involved, build understanding, and recognize that they can play a significant role in creating a better community.

☀️✈️ What a day to pull together for our community!

Plane Pull 2026 brought an incredible group of teams to London International Airport to take on the challenge of pulling a 66,000-pound aircraft.

With sunshine overhead and plenty of teamwork on the tarmac, it was a day filled with friendly competition, big energy, and an even bigger sense of community.

Thank you to everyone who participated, volunteered, sponsored, cheered from the sidelines, and helped make this year’s Plane Pull possible.

Your support helps strengthen our community and make a difference for people across Elgin Middlesex and London.

On this National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, we’re reminded that reconciliation is about more than remembering the past. It’s about listening, learning, and supporting the work of Indigenous communities as they reclaim culture, language, traditions, and knowledge.

The Minomode-zewin nunge-gehwin (“Health way of eating”) program, operated by the Southwest Ontario Aboriginal Health Access Centre (SOAHAC), supports food security while strengthening connections to Indigenous culture, traditions, and community.

Today, we’re listening to the voices leading that work and looking toward the seven generations to come. 🧡
