π Pop-up cervical cancer screening clinic notice!
Did you know cervical cancer screening now tests for human papillomavirus (HPV), replacing the traditional pap smear? Dr. Robert Di Cecco, Regional Lead for Cervical Screening at the South West Regional Cancer Program (SWRCP), explains how the new test detects cancer causing strains of HPV and provides a more accurate assessment of cervical cancer risk.
If you're 25 or older and havenβt had a cervical screening test in the past three years, the SWRCP is hosting two pop-up clinics this spring at St. Joseph's Health Care London and LHSC. Both clinics are drop-in, with no appointment or referral required. Just bring your Ontario health card.
