Their contributions help strengthen our economy, enrich our communities, and make London a more vibrant place to live.

Hear powerful stories of resilience, learn about the experiences of refugees in our community, and explore how we can build a more welcoming and inclusive London together.

Learning about the history of Indigenous Peoples is an important part of understanding Canada.

Our newcomer clients recently participated in a Canadian First Nations Information Session featuring the Blanket Exercise, an interactive experience that explores the histories, experiences, and resilience of Indigenous Peoples through storytelling, reflection, and discussion.

As a settlement agency, we are committed to creating opportunities for newcomers to learn, connect, and deepen their understanding of the communities they now call home.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for this meaningful session.

Immigrants and refugees are an important part of our communities. They contribute to our economy, enrich our culture, and help make Canada stronger.

This World Refugee Day, we celebrate the resilience, contributions, and stories of refugees and newcomers who help shape the communities we call home.

During the National Week of Action for World Refugee Day, let's take the opportunity to learn, listen, and reflect on the experiences of those who have rebuilt their lives in Canada.

Together, we can help build communities where everyone feels welcome, safe, and has the opportunity to thrive.

Meet our keynote speaker, Alfredo Caxaj! 🌎

From newcomer to community leader, Alfredo’s story embodies the spirit of this year’s Life As A Refugee event: resilience, belonging, and the power of community.

As Founder and Co-Artistic Director of SunFest, Alfredo has helped shape one of Canada’s premier celebrations of world cultures, bringing people together through music, art, food, and storytelling for nearly three decades.

His journey, leadership, and impact on London’s multicultural community have inspired thousands across the city and beyond. We are honoured to welcome him as this year’s keynote speaker.

Join us on June 19 from 12–4 PM at Goodwill Industries for an afternoon of powerful conversations, stories of resilience, and community connection.

At the CCLC, we believe that Pride rights are human rights. As a settlement agency, we are committed to creating welcoming, inclusive communities where everyone feels safe, supported, and valued.

This Pride Month, we want to celebrate love, diversity, and belonging in all its forms. We also recognize that many newcomers around the world continue to face persecution and discrimination because of their sexuality or gender identity. We hope that all CCLC clients can feel a sense of safety, acceptance, and support in their new home and community.

Love is love. Happy Pride Month from CCLC 🌈

Our clients had a blast at the police open house! Thank you to our neighbours at the London Police Service for all the work they do to help keep our community safe.

For many newcomers, opportunities like this help build a greater sense of stability, connection, and comfort in their new home. It was great to explore, play games, enjoy some food, and learn more about the important work the police service does in our community. Thank you for having us!
