🌧️ IT’S RAINING. LET’S TALK ABOUT WET SOCKS. 🧦

For many of us, a rainy day means wet shoes, damp socks and the comfort of knowing we can head home, get warm and change into something dry.

But what if you couldn’t?

What if the socks on your feet were the only pair you owned?

What if your shoes were soaked, your feet were cold and there was nowhere to go to dry off?

For friends experiencing homelessness, this is a reality that goes far beyond discomfort.

🧦 Wet socks can contribute to painful blisters and skin breakdown.

🧦 Prolonged exposure to wet, cold conditions can lead to trench foot, a serious condition that can cause swelling, numbness and tissue damage.

🧦 Without access to laundry, dry footwear or a safe place to warm up, wet socks may stay on someone’s feet for hours or even days.

🧦 For someone walking long distances every day, healthy feet are essential.

At 519Pursuit, we know that something as simple as a clean, dry pair of socks can make a meaningful difference in someone’s day.

This is WHY we pledge. ❤️

The 9th Annual 519Pledge For Socks is underway, and we’re inviting our community to help us collect NEW socks for friends facing homelessness and extreme poverty.

Our challenge? Claim your 519 pairs!

Whether you’re collecting one pair, one package or rallying your entire workplace, school, family or neighbourhood, every contribution matters.

The next time you step inside to change your wet socks, think about the friends who don’t have that same opportunity.

Happy Thanksgiving weekend, friends! 💚

Just a friendly reminder that 519Pursuit’s Saturday Donation Day is CANCELLED today, October 10th, as we take a break for the holiday weekend.

🚨 IMPORTANT DONATION DROP-OFF REMINDER!

519Pursuit operates out of a shared storage space, and we kindly ask our community to respect the businesses and individuals who share this space with us.

❌ Please DO NOT leave donations outside, beside doors, or anywhere on the property when our team is not present.

✅ ALL donations must be handed directly to a 519Pursuit volunteer during our designated Donation Day hours to be accepted.

We appreciate the generosity of our community and know that every donation comes from a place of kindness. Following these guidelines helps us maintain positive relationships with our neighbours and ensures donations can be properly received, sorted, and distributed to our friends facing homelessness.

A friendly reminder that our Saturday Donation Day is cancelled tomorrow, October 10th, as we take some time to enjoy the Thanksgiving long weekend!

At 519Pursuit, we have so much to be thankful for. From the incredible community members who show up with donations, to the volunteers who give their time, and the friendships we’ve built along the way — we are reminded every day that together is better. 💚

🧦💛 ONE BASKET. 519 PAIRS. COUNTLESS CONVERSATIONS. 💛🧦

Sometimes, making a difference starts with something as simple as putting out a basket.

The 9th Annual 519Pledge For Socks is underway, and we’re encouraging businesses, workplaces, schools, community spaces and individuals to CLAIM YOUR 519! 🙌

Here’s an idea to get your pledge growing! 👇

🧺 Find a basket, bin or box.

📍 Place it somewhere people gather — your front counter, office lunchroom, school entrance, local café, gym or community space.

🧦 Add a sign inviting others to donate NEW socks and help you reach your goal of 519 pairs.

💬 Then watch what happens!

Someone drops in a pair. Someone else asks what the basket is for. A conversation starts about homelessness, the challenges of surviving outdoors, and why something as simple as clean, dry socks matters.

Before you know it, your basket starts filling up, more people are getting involved, and your little collection has become something much bigger.

Because the 519Pledge has never been JUST about socks.

It’s about starting conversations, building awareness, creating friendships and reminding our community that everyone deserves dignity, comfort and care.

Every basket filled represents people coming together to support friends facing homelessness and extreme poverty. 💛

And the best part? You don’t have to do it alone! Invite your customers, coworkers, neighbours, friends and family to be part of your 519.

The 9th Annual 519Pledge For Socks is officially kicking off Week 2, and we’re calling on our incredible community to keep the momentum going!

Whether you’ve already claimed your 519, you’re just getting started, or you’ve been thinking about joining — THERE’S STILL PLENTY OF TIME TO GET INVOLVED!

Our challenge is simple: Collect 519 pairs of NEW socks over six weeks to support friends facing homelessness and extreme poverty.

But why socks? 🧦

For someone living at street level, a clean, dry pair of socks is more than just clothing. It’s warmth, comfort, dignity and an important part of maintaining healthy feet when you’re spending long days and nights outdoors.

💛 HERE’S HOW YOU CAN MAKE WEEK 2 COUNT!

🧦 Claim Your 519! Register as an individual, family, workplace, school, sports team or community group.

📣 Spread the word! Share your pledge on social media, tag and encourage your friends to help you reach your goal.

🤝 Rally your people! Set up a collection box at work, challenge your coworkers, ask your classmates or invite your neighbours to donate a pair or package.

💛 Every pair matters! Whether you collect 5, 50, 519 or 1,000 pairs, you’re helping make a difference.

After collecting 662,043 pairs of socks over our first eight campaigns, we’re working our way toward an incredible milestone of ONE MILLION PAIRS! 🎉
