This Thanksgiving let us remember that our greatest reason for gratitude is not simply what God has given us, but who He is! He is good, His steadfast love never fails, and He alone is worthy of our praise.

May our hearts overflow with thanksgiving, our lips proclaim His goodness, and our lives reflect His glory!

Happy Thanksgiving from The Cross Current! 🍂

Today, we celebrate and thank God for the faithful shepherd He has given to Pineland Baptist Church in Burlington, ON.

This Pastor Appreciation Month, we are especially grateful for Tyrell Haag, Senior Pastor, and his faithful commitment to Christ, His church, and the gospel.

From his ministry in South Africa to church planting in Johannesburg and now serving as Senior Pastor of Pineland Baptist Church, God has used Tyrell to preach the Word, reach the lost, disciple believers, and point people to Jesus Christ.

Let’s take a moment to thank God for Tyrell, and his family, and encourage him for the faithful work he continues to do!

During Pastor Appreciation Month, we are thanking God for the gift of faithful pastors who lead Gospel Missions Partner churches alongside The Cross Current.

Today, we honour Nate Wright, Senior Pastor at Crossroads Bible Church in Ingersoll, ON.

Nate loves teaching the Word of God and has been greatly influenced by the writings of theologians such as Jonathan Edwards, Charles Spurgeon, John Owen, and Thomas Watson. His passion is to see God’s people take seriously their responsibility to study Scripture, make disciples of all nations, and serve others faithfully.

Nate, thank you for faithfully serving Christ and His Church. May God continue to bless, strengthen, and equip you as you fulfill the calling He has given you.

Join us in thanking God for Nate and praying for him, his family, and his ministry at Crossroads Bible Church.

🙏 Prayer Minute with Nettie

October is Pastor Appreciation Month! Today, we’re taking a moment to pray for the men who faithfully shepherd Christ’s Church—those who labor among us through the preaching and teaching of God’s Word.

Ephesians 4 reminds us that Christ gives shepherds and teachers to equip His people for ministry and to build up His Church.

Let’s take a moment to thank God for our pastors and lift them up in prayer today.

The world offers many ways to find relief from our burdens, but only Jesus offers true rest for our souls.

When the weight of life feels overwhelming, when weariness runs deep, and when our strength is failing, Christ invites us to come - not to strive harder, carry more, or prove ourselves worthy, but to rest in Him.

His invitation is not to a life free from trouble, but to find peace, hope, and strength in the One who is faithful to carry us through.

Whatever you are carrying today, bring it to Jesus. His grace is sufficient and His love is steadfast.

OCTOBER IS PASTOR APPRECIATION MONTH

This month, let’s take time to honour, recognize, pray for, and appreciate our pastors.

Pastoral ministry is a calling that carries great responsibility. Our pastors faithfully preach God’s Word, shepherd His people, pray for us, encourage us, walk with us through difficult seasons, and equip us to live and serve for Christ.

Don’t let this month pass without letting your pastor know that their faithfulness is seen and appreciated.

Pray for them. Encourage them. Thank them. Honour them.

“Remember your leaders, those who spoke to you the word of God. Consider the outcome of their way of life, and imitate their faith.” — Hebrews 13:7

Church, let’s be intentional this month—and every month—to love and support those who faithfully shepherd us.

To know Christ is to treasure Him. And when we truly treasure Christ, we cannot help but make Him known.

May our greatest pursuit be knowing Jesus more deeply, living faithfully for Him, and boldly sharing the good news of the gospel with those around us.

Know Christ. Make Christ known. ✝️

God’s love is greater than we can measure, and His faithfulness reaches farther than we can see.

When circumstances change, God remains faithful. When we feel uncertain, His steadfast love remains sure.

Let His faithfulness fill your heart with confidence today—and let your life be a testimony of His goodness to those around you.

His love is great. His faithfulness is unchanging. His promises are sure.
