PAWS PAWS supports urgent vet care and preventive spay/neuter/vax to help reduce surrenders and euthanasia in SW Ontario

Progressive Animal Welfare Services (PAWS) is 100% volunteer run, working to help pet families in Ontario. PAWS subsidizes the costs of preventive and essential veterinary care for those who could not otherwise afford it, avoiding unnecessary euthanasia or surrender to shelters - keeping owners and their animal companions together!

Do you know who to call if you witness animal cruelty, abuse, or neglect?

At PAWS Canada, we receive messages daily from concerned people about animals in distress.

‼️While we care deeply, our organization is not an enforcement agency and cannot investigate these reports‼️ We want to be sure that your concerns get to the right place the first time, so that these vulnerable animals can get the timely help that they need.

In Ontario, our AWS (Animal Welfare Service) does NOT have an email address, online contact form, or a social media account - they can only be contacted with a phone call. To expedite the process, be sure to provide an address and as many details as possible.

PAWS on the Go is coming to Village SoHo!
We are excited to be working with Zerin Development Corporation to bring accessible veterinary care right to your neighbourhood! On November 2nd, the team from East Village Animal Hospital (EVAH) will be on-site providing wellness exams and core vaccines for cats and dogs to the residents of the affordable housing units at Village SoHo.

This amazing opportunity eliminates transportation and financial barriers to veterinary care - creating healthier pets and building a healthier community.

This opportunity is open exclusively to qualifying residents living in:
• Zerin Place
• Greg Playford Place (Homes Unlimited)
• Chelsea on the Thames
• River Ridge (LAHF)

We are beyond grateful to the The Lawson Foundation for funding six 'PAWS on the Go' wellness visits with East Village Animal Hospital ! These essential clinics eliminate the transportation and financial barriers for residents of supportive housing and affordable housing. Not only does getting these cats and dogs examined and vaccinated improve their health, it keeps them with their owners and out of shelters, and prevents communicable disease throughout the community.

Jim and Vera Morton left a gift emblematic of the life they lived. The gift of compassion, of hope, and of love as their legacy. Thank you, Morton family, for your incredible generosity.�💚

A tribute from their daughter: “This is my favourite pic of my mom and dad, Vera & Jim Morton, with Nemo, one of the many cats we cared for. Both were animal lovers and raised us to be the same. On the farm, dogs and cats were part of the team, helping guard the property and keeping the mice population down. They were also part of our family. They were well fed and cared for and always joined us for family walks and picnics. My parents have recently passed and I honour them with this tribute helping a charity they knew and loved.”
