Are your cat’s vaccines up to date?

We’ve learned of a panleukopenia outbreak in Oxford County, serving as a timely reminder to keep your cat’s vaccines current.

Even strictly indoor cats can contract this highly contagious virus. With early detection and early aggressive intervention, prognosis remains guarded, with a less than 50% survival rate. Prevention is critical to keeping your cat safe.

Please note: While we don’t currently operate in Oxford County, PAWS does support households in the neighbouring Middlesex County, Brant County, and Waterloo Region.

Progressive Animal Welfare Services (PAWS) provides financial subsidies to marginalized individuals and families requiring veterinary care for their pets. Support from Brant Community Foundation is helping PAWS subsidize essential care for pets, assist with preventative pet care advice and resources, and help vulnerable residents keep their beloved pets in their home.

We are incredibly grateful to the Agape Foundation of London for supporting our mission with a grant for our PAWS on the Go program! So far, with our partners at we have made it possible for 45 cats and dogs to receive wellness exams and vaccinations, who would have otherwise gone without. We serve high density areas to prevent the spread of communicable disease, meaning healthier pets, their people, and communities.

We're in Strathroy today with connecting residents of high-density, low income housing with local vets to receive wellness exams and vaccines for their cats and dogs.

The pets we serve through PAWS on the Go are unable to see a vet due to a combination of financial and transportation barriers. Mobile services not only improve the lives of pets and people, they protect and strengthen our community by preventing communicable diseases and keeping loved pets out of shelters.

PAWS Canada is partnered with Donate A Car Canada to accept your vehicle donation! You will be provided free towing, or you can drop off your vehicle to maximize your donation. When you donate your car, truck, RV, boat, or motorcycle to PAWS through Donate A Car Canada, it will either be recycled or re-sold (depending on its condition, age and location).
