Do you love gardening? Want to help build community around local nature? Then consider helping us out at the Wardsville Community Wildflower Garden next week! 🌼

On Tuesday, June 9th, 2026 from 10 AM to 12 PM at Wardsville Woods (1632 Longwoods Rd, Wardsville, ON), we’ll be taking the morning to maintain the garden and get it back into shape for the summer. 🌱

The community garden is planted with all native perennial plants that are beautiful and hardy choices for landscaping. The garden serves as a demonstration site for native plant gardening as well as a source of seeds for interested community members who want to grow native plants for their own gardens.

We'd love to see you there! Sign up under "Upcoming Events" on our website.

This past weekend, Thames Talbot Land Trust and the St. Clair Region Conservation Foundation celebrated the permanent protection of Bradshaw Conservation Lands!

Located in the Township of St. Clair, this remarkable place was donated to ensure its unique natural features are safeguarded forever. The site features wetlands, agricultural lands, and hawthorn thickets including 32 acres of interior Carolinian forest that supports area-sensitive birds. The site also boasts a variety of provincially rare species, including Shellbark Hickory.

This is the first project TTLT has co-owned with another conservation group — a new avenue for how we protect land together. We're grateful for the partnerships that made it possible, and we look forward to exploring and caring for this special place alongside partners like Lambton Wildlife.

This project was made possible through the provincial Greenlands Conservation Partnership Program, administered by the Ontario Land Trust Alliance; the federal Natural Heritage Conservation Program – Land Trust Conservation Program, delivered by Wildlife Habitat Canada; and the Echo Foundation.

Thank you to all the dedicated supporters and partners who make conservation dreams a reality!

We want to take a moment to give a big thank you to one of our amazing long-time supporters and sponsors, Lerners Law Firm!

On May 11th, we went out to Hawk Cliff Woods with Lerners staff to pull garlic mustard, an activity that’s becoming a tradition between our organizations. Lerners staff members have been working hard for several years to clear the garlic mustard out of a particular area of Hawk Cliff Woods, and their labour of love has resulted in the flourishing of many native plants along the forest floor. We had to pick a new spot to tend to for this annual pull, since they’ve done such fantastic work with their assigned area!

In addition to this local stewardship, Lerners is a member of Green Economy London (GEL), and has committed to completing at least 10 stewardship projects by 2027 in order to reach Platinum Environmental Stewardship status. Invasive species management with TTLT is just one of their many ongoing projects for environmental stewardship.

We are so grateful to work alongside dedicated community partners like Lerners to make a positive impact on our local ecosystems and communities.

On May 5th, long-time TTLT volunteers David and Winifred Wake took a group of springtime adventurers on a guided wildflower walk around the Five Points Forest - Dreidger Tract.

On their adventures, they spotted lots of classic springtime flowers, such as jack-in-the-pulpits, mayapples, red trilliums, and Ontario’s beloved white trilliums. They also had the pleasure of observing a wide variety of forested habitats that occur throughout the area, each with unique wildlife and lovely flowers to find.

Thank you to David and Winifred Wake for guiding us around Five Points Forest - Dreidger Tract and teaching us more about the beautiful flowers of southwestern Ontario! Thank you to our Passport to Nature sponsors for making this event possible. Remember to shop local!
