TOMORROW (TUES MAY 12, 2026) Council member Belinda Crowson will bring forward a motion for Lethbridge City Council to write the provincial govt in support of our library. If you can come to the council meeting, please do so. If you can't please send an email to the Mayor and Council. I know, James Michener! Long past the time when anyone under 40(?)may have heard of him. But he was a best seller for a reason. He wrote more than 40 books, almost all really long. But he knew how to tell a story and often taught us about a place or a time. Hawaii. A couple of chapters all about the actual creation of the islands...if not your thing skip to when the story of people starts. That book put Hawaii on my must see list. The Drifters: about the struggles of young people in the 70s, their dreams and issues with govt at the time. Some things never change! The Source about the history of Jewish people and the land of Isreal. And finally Tales of South Pacific, apparently the basis of the musical. We have long warm days that will call for a comfy seat and a big book. One of these might be it for you!
