— A 23-year-old Starbucks barista at the International Airport was arrested Tuesday morning after what police described as a “gratuity blow-up” that disrupted terminal traffic.

Witnesses say the barista had just prepared a $47 order of lattes, breakfast sandwiches, and pastries for a family rushing to catch a flight. When they declined to tip on the payment screen, she allegedly shouted, “You’ll drop hundreds on plane tickets but nothing for the person keeping you awake?”

When the customers tried to grab their order and leave, police say she hurled a hot latte across the counter, splashing onto one traveler’s carry-on bag. She then vaulted over the counter and blocked the exit, demanding they add a tip before boarding.

Airport police arrived within minutes and arrested her on charges of assault and disorderly conduct.

The meltdown caused such a backup in the concourse that TSA briefly closed one checkpoint, delaying multiple flights by nearly 20 minutes…

On November 17th, 2019, 26-year-old Marshal Iwaasa left his mother's home and headed for his storage unit to pick up something. Days later, his burned truck was found nearly 700 miles away from where he was last seen.
On November 17th, 2019, 26-year-old Marshal Iwaasa spent time at his mother’s home in Lethbridge before departing that night, explaining that he was going to pick up something from his storage unit nearby and then return to his house in Calgary.

This would be the last time anyone heard from him.

Days later, his burned truck and scattered belongings were discovered by hikers in a remote area of Pemberton, British Columbia—approximately 700 miles away from Marshal’s last known location.

No CCTV footage captured any part of his journey from Lethbridge to Pemberton. No one came forward to report having seen him at any stores or gas stations along the way, nor was there evidence to prove that he was even the one who made that journey.

Many aspects of his case continue to defy explanation. And several years later, his family is still fighting for answers.

Gurvinder Pannu, 32

“Following a thorough investigation, we were able to successfully arrest and charge this suspect,” says Cst. Mughees Jutt with the EPS’ Southwest Branch. “We unfortunately believe that there are others who have been impacted by this individual and we would like them to come forward so we can investigate and provide them with appropriate supports.”

Due to the nature of the sexual assault, investigators believe there may be additional complainants and are asking anyone who may have experienced a similar incident to come forward.

Missing Person Located Deceased
Manitoba
This morning, at approximately 10:20 am, officers from Gillam RCMP and Parks Canada, along with community searchers from Fort Severn, were conducting a ground search, on the west side of the Hayes River, when the pilot of a helicopter reported to the search parties that he believed he located the body of the missing hiker a short distance away from where his jacket had been located on Friday afternoon.
Gillam RCMP and Parks Canada officers, along with the community searchers from Fort Severn, attended to the provided location on foot and confirmed that the body recovered on shore was that of the missing 29-year-old Norwegian hiker.
His body was transported by helicopter to Gillam where it was then flown to Winnipeg where an autopsy has been scheduled for Monday morning.
Gillam RCMP would like to thank the community members from Fort Severn and Parks Canada who greatly assisted with this search.
