Wess Garrod has been a dedicated member of the Limestone Learning Foundation Board of Directors since 2014 and currently serves as Chair of the Grants Committee.

A former school principal, Senior Staff member, and Trustee with the Limestone District School Board, Wess has seen firsthand how the Foundation creates opportunities for students that extend beyond the classroom. He believes LLF has played a vital role in supporting arts, technology, and other learning experiences that may not otherwise have been possible, while ensuring students across the district have equitable access to enhanced educational opportunities.

As Wess shares:

"As a former school principal, I experienced the benefits the LLF provided to individual classrooms and students in providing opportunities for growth beyond the required curriculum. It enhanced student learning experiences."

💼 Flashback Friday! At Frontenac Secondary School, students took business learning to the next level through the Business Leadership for the 21st Century project, supported by the Limestone Learning Foundation.

Inspired by real world business leaders, students transformed their classroom into a collaborative workspace, building skills in teamwork, problem solving, and leadership. Through video conferencing, they connected with industry professionals and even developed their own e commerce projects, gaining hands on experience in today’s business world.

This project is a great example of how learning can evolve beyond traditional classrooms, giving students the tools and confidence to lead in the future.

🎶 Flashback Friday

At Rideau Heights Public School, music came to life through the School House Rocks project, supported by the Limestone Learning Foundation.

With access to instruments, students were able to create their own compositions while exploring music across different cultures, time periods, and perspectives. The project encouraged students to think critically about whose voices are heard and to question traditional approaches to music education.

Beyond music, this experience helped students build creativity, confidence, and a deeper understanding of the world around them.

Projects like this show how learning can go beyond the classroom and open the door to new ways of thinking and expression.

🎶 Bringing music to more classrooms, one kit at a time.

Thanks to the generosity of the Limestone Learning Foundation, the first phase of the Sounds aBound Musical Instrument Kits initiative is now complete, bringing hands-on music education to elementary classrooms across the Limestone District School Board.

From new classroom instrument kits to professional learning opportunities and ongoing educator supports, this initiative is helping students experience music in meaningful, engaging, and inclusive ways.

Tim Stiff has joined the Limestone Learning Foundation as a Board Director, bringing with him a strong background in education and a long-standing connection to the Foundation.

A former educator with the Limestone District School Board, Tim has played an active role in supporting LLF’s fundraising initiatives, including his contributions as music director for the Crystal Concert Series and Crystal Ball Gala events.

His passion for music and community was further demonstrated through his work on the Limestone Music Celebration, where he created an original composition for a Massed Ensemble, bringing together hundreds of secondary students in a powerful and inclusive performance.

Tim’s continued involvement reflects a deep commitment to fostering connection, creativity, and opportunity for students across the community.

A huge thank you to our incredible volunteers and the team at Loyalist Golf and Country Club for an amazing day on the course ⛳️

We would also like to thank our golfers, sponsors, financial donors and all those that supplied us with amazing auction items and Bidrush's online auction support! We’re so grateful for the time, energy, and engagement that went into making this tournament such a success. From start to finish, it was a sunny, fantastic day of golf, community, and impact.
