We are at the end of another successful KKMF season. This year we had 523 registrations, over 1000 participants, over 100 award winners, and we gave out over $10,000 in awards. The Highlights Concert went smoothly, and the videos of the participants’ excellent performances are now available on our website at https://www.kkmf.ca/highlights-concerts/.
This year the Highlights Concert was proceeded by our new “Red Carpet” Ceremony to honour our award winners. Each award winner or award winning group walked proudly down the Red Carpet in the lower lobby of the Isabel holding their award certificate (s). They then posed at our festival backdrop for an “official” awards photograph. We are collating pictures from the Red Carpet with the official photographs and plan to email them to the award winners next week. Our thanks to our official photographer and volunteer, Megan Kaiser, and our roving Red Carpet photographer, Tristan Cook, who is also a music teacher and an accompanist in the festival.
All the performers during the festival and the Highlights Concert are our stars! Thank you for your wonderful effort. And thanks to their teachers and accompanists, the adjudicators, our festival volunteers, sponsors, and friends who are the inspiration and enablers of the festival!
Finally, congratulations to the individuals and groups (bands, choirs, duets/trios, ensembles, orchestra) who will be representing the Kingston Kiwanis Music Festival in the Provincial Finals in June 2026 with sixty performances. We wish them a wonderful time.
