Attention: Dovercourt Neighbors & Parents

We’ve had several recent incidents of "nicky-nicky nine doors" (ding-dong ditching) in the neighborhood. While it might seem like a harmless prank, it often does not feel like that for the person, baby, pet, etc on the other side of the door.

Please note:

1. It’s Illegal.
Under Alberta’s Petty Trespass Act and the Canadian Criminal Code, entering private yards to repeatedly disturb residents can result in steep fines or mischief charges.

2. Cameras are everywhere.
Between Ring doorbells and security cameras, it is very easy to identify faces and school clothes to pass along to parents, local schools, or the police.

Parents, please talk to your teens/tweens about respecting property boundaries. Let’s keep Dovercourt peaceful for everyone! Thanks for looking out for each other. 🙏💛

Shared from Westmount Neighbours, please vote!!

1. Polls are open from 9am - 8pm. As long as you are in line by 8pm, they must let you cast your ballot even if it takes a couple hours to do so (but I hope not!)

2. Find your voting location here: https://map.elections.ab.ca/LocMethod.aspx

3. If you mailed in your special ballot, double check the status here with the confirmation code you would’ve received in your email when you requested your ballot: https://specialballot.elections.ab.ca//status/8400
If the status does not show “received and cast”, you can go vote today. No more special ballots can be counted.

4. At a minimum you will need your voter registration card, ID (bring two pieces if you didn’t receive your voter registration).
5. Prepare for long lines…wear comfortable shoes, appropriate clothing for waiting outdoors, water/snacks etc.

42% of eligible voters have cast their vote already… make sure you don’t let them decide for you! Get out there and bring a friend, family member, co-worker, or neighbour with you!
