Mosaic Home Services started with a single Charity Day cheque for $228. Today, that commitment has grown into nearly a quarter of a million dollars annually, with 5% of sales from 54 franchises donated back to the community every single month.

For Bill, Steven, and Grace Knight, giving back has always been part of the business model. Through the Mosaic Home Service Community Fund held at ECF, those donations support 11 charities each year, while an endowment helps ensure that impact continues to grow for generations to come.

Public service is a career built on showing up for others. The Al Maurer Awards are a way to invest in the people who do that work every day.

Established in honour of long-time City of Edmonton City Manager Al Maurer, the awards support permanent public service employees in the Edmonton area pursuing a certificate, diploma, degree, or professional designation — with priority given to those whose studies will strengthen their work in the public sector.

In Alberta's construction industry, women make up just 5% of tradespeople. Women Building Futures is working to change that.

Since 1998, WBF has helped more than 3,000 women build careers in the trades — with training programs, wraparound supports, and a community that doesn't disappear after graduation.

Natalie Bak was 19 when she moved to Alberta with no experience and no connections. WBF gave her a shot. Eighteen years later, she's a Red Seal welder who's worked across Western Canada and up to the tundra at a diamond mine in the Northwest Territories.

We’ve partnered with the City of Edmonton - Local Government to launch a new initiative that helps faith-based organizations explore opportunities to create affordable housing on their properties.

Faith Lands Affordable Housing Incentive is a great example of the kind of collaboration needed to address housing challenges — bringing together government, philanthropy, and community partners to unlock new possibilities.

Through this program, congregations can access funding for early planning work, helping move ideas closer to reality, and opening the door to new affordable housing in an exciting way.

The $1 million we are investing in this program is part of our broader $20-million commitment to affordable housing — focused on bringing partners together and supporting projects at the stages where they’re most likely to stall.

Together, we can build a stronger, more connected system to create long-term, affordable homes for Edmontonians.
