Dolly Parton believed every child deserved to grow up surrounded by books, and she turned that belief into one of her life's greatest missions and one of her most lasting legacies.

Since 2022, EPL has proudly partnered with Dolly Parton's Imagination Library through Ready. Set. READ!, mailing free books every month to thousands of Edmonton children under the age of five. In 2025, the program resulted in 56,976 books mailed to 4917 children. Those books exist because Dolly dreamed of a world where every child grows up with stories they can call their own.

"You can never get enough books into the hands of enough children." ~Dolly Parton

Thank you, Dolly. Edmonton's littlest readers are part of your legacy. 💛📚

Her family has asked that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Dolly Parton's Imagination Library. You can support her legacy right here at home through Ready. Set. READ! https://www.give.epl.ca/ready-set-read
